Mauritian Hakka roots in Meixian 1

I am 3rd generation of hakka in Java, Indonesia. My grandfather came to Indonesia when He was 19 years old in 1937. He and My grandmother have visited his hometown Moyan / Meixian around 1985. He migrated to Indonesia with his father, and left his mother and sister in Moyan. Very sad He cannot meet with his mother and sister, only meet with the son of his sister.

I am a Hakka born and grew up in India, immigrated to Canada 50 years ago. I have been to my ancestral home in Meixian several time. I love my village and seen the improvements made over the years.My ancestral home has modern toilets and other modern facilities which was lacking the first time I went in 1990. By the Grace of God my relatives are all doing well. I think Hakkas from India and Mauritius speak the true Hakka dialect.

Peter Hugh I went to Calcutta once, accidentally found Hakka people born there could speak perfect authentic Hakka dialect almost same as I ‘d heard in MeiXian where only 20Km from my hometown. Now I live in Winnipeg, but probably move back to China soon . Hakka in Burma were mainly from my hometown, who also keeps their language very well. In terms of material life, China is very close to Canada, even better in some aspects. I’m gonna visit Mauritius one day, interesting being a Hakka, people are scattered everywhere but share the same spiritual hometown

im hakka ( khekka ) from viet nam , as long we can keep our ancestral hakka language , sadly my kids cant speak hakka therefore we need to find the way that our hakka fa can pass on younger generation thank you
