I am moiyan hakka from Kolkata,India.Our dialect has not changed.Its the same as the lady talking.We were isolated from other chinese dialects. We have been in India for more than 150 yrs.But most of us left after the border war in 1962.Today, indian hakka chinese are mostly in canada,sweden,austria,usa,germany,australia,uk...... love from sweden.

It's a pretty mindfuck at Meizhou because Moiyan Hakka is like a secret language anywhere else in the world. You can talk shit with family and no one around you knows what you're saying because of how different it is compared to Cantonese or Mandarin. Then you go to Meizhou and you have to be mindful of what you say because suddenly everyone knows what you're saying and you can even use it in stores.

Tone and dialect of the woman is exactly the same as my dialect in Pontianak, Indonesia. From many Hakka language videos on youtube, I finally found the dialect of my ancestors, for example Chicken = Ke, lots of hakka videos on youtube mention chicken = Kai

I am a Hakka from Malaysia, grandparents, parents came from Moiyen too. The bowl of noodles at video time 0.35, we have that too in Malaysia and it is called it the "Lou Shu Fun" literally mean "Rat (Shit) Noodle" because the noodle look like rat's droppings....Thanks for your video, great to hear old folks talk...How Fun He (Very Happy). Yes you need, the shortest you take a train from Shenzhen North, and it is also an interchange for Hongkong-mainland high-speed train then transfer to Meizhou West! Meizhou is very worth to visit...

Jia yang is new airport .I went to Meizhou last yrs.You can go direct to Meizhou airport.Jia yang airport is very convenient because it's center of Shantou, Chaozhou city where Chinese ancester took ship to SE asia es. Hakka Chaozhou Fugian You can check flight from Jakarta.

It is a language. It is the same as Javanese. It is a language not a dialect. Jakarta can be considered a dialect of Malay language, because virtually everybody who speak Malay can understand Jakarta dialect.
