Mauritius: Circular Migration Project

"Facilitate a responsible and effective circular migration of Mauritian workers to Italy"
A hundred participants from Mauritius and Rodrigues were selected to attend various training programmes in 2013 and in 2015 in Italy in the following fields; agri-business, agri-tourism, aquaculture farming and the hospitality sector. The project provided for financial assistance to 11 beneficiaries, who had been selected after submission of a call for proposals in December 2015, to set up a new business project or expand their existing business enterprises within the context of reintegration activities.
Stakeholders involved are IOM in collaboration with the Mauritian Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training (MLIRET) and the Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy (MoLSP) and the European Union.
