Mauritius was created first, and then the garden of Eden ~ Mark Twain Mauritius 🇲🇺 Much more than a paradisiacal island off the coast of SouthEast Africa, just beyond Madagascar. Colors of the flag symbolize its storied, fraught past, it’s bright present and future. Red represents the blood shed for independence which came - finally - March 12, 1992 Blue for the ocean Yellow for the light of independence Green the lush vegetation Mauritius ranks as the most competitive and one of the most developed economies in the African region. There’s free universal health care, free education, free public transport for students, senior citizens, the disabled. The population is multi-lingual French, English, with Asian languages used mostly in music, religious and cultural activities. How cool is that? My kind of place. Mauritius has successfully shaken the shackles of slavery, made peace with its past and is to a diverse, multi-cultural prosperous place. So yeah, seems like paradise to me in more ways than white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Who knew? Now you do. Available WW except GAS (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)

Free, free, free. All I hear is “higher taxes.” Paradise? It sounds like a nightmare dystopia to me. I hate the government’s meddling in the US, so I can’t imagine living under a socialist regime.

This is paradise on earth. No venomous animals.. No deadly natural disasters.. Two seasons: winter and summer.. We have the most beautiful beaches and the most luxurious hotels in the world.. I have visited many countries but never seen anything like my beautiful island.. Unfortunately like many countries we do have a corrupt government which makes life kind of tough and expensive for mauritians.. This is why so many young people have to leave to work on cruises or abroad to get out of poverty.. I'm myself waiting for this covid thing to get over so that i can start cruising again and fulfill my dreams but wherever i go one thing is sure that i will always return to my beautiful motherland ❤️🇲🇺❤️🇲🇺❤️

@@plouplou1136 then don't come back if you don't like it sir.. If you prefer madagascar's beaches so be it.. Tourism is the primary sector of economy in mauritius .. Millions of tourists trust my country each year for their perfect vacation.. Anybody who wants to come back or not mauritius will always be prosperous as being one of the safest travel destinations.. The proof is right now where many countries are struggling with this covid 19 situation mauritius is doing quite well with only 10 death.. Anyways merry Christmas my friend 🎄🎄

Anyway i am not gonna argue with you of that but it might be you don't know more people say madagascar is like a paradisiac on earth. I never say mauritius's beache is bad i just say madagascar have more beautiful beaches than mauritius. You are just lucky cause it's more affordable to come to mauritius comparing to madagascar. How come you gonna compare mauritius you ll finish to see all the places in 2 hours To Madagascar you ll finish to visit the places more than 1 month. That's funny.

There are lots of false information in this documentary. I am from Mauritius. The country got independence on March 12 1968 not 1992. And we are not living anymore in that age when bride doesn't know whom she is getting married to. May be you should have done a really good research before the video. I just named a few false info , there are many.

What a splendidly constructed documentary, bravo! I can't watch people who keep big cats after the tiger Roy Horn (of Siegfried and Roy) mauled him so badly he never worked again. He had also raised it from a cub. I feel much safer with domesticated elephants than big cats. Elephants love sugar cane, bananas, and pineapple. Thailand has around 200 islands, many of them look like Mauritius. Also, I liked your intercultural awareness and that you didn't feel it necessary to say something snarky about China. Regards!
