We shot this film about chef Mauro Colagreco in October 2018. Back then his restaurant Mirazur was 3rd in The Worlds 50 Best Restaurants rating - and in June 2019 it has been named the best in the world.
We were not certain whether Mirazur would fall in first place or not. We were just interested in making a film about a great cook who was born in Argentina, but made a career in France. And became famous for the restaurant located on the border between France and Italy, from where the ancestors of Colagreco once emigrated to South America. Mirazur is located in the city of Menton, just a hundred meters from the Italian border, and Mauro buys produce from markets in both countries.
