Love the meat and potatoes vids guys. Interesting to see that there is a manual chain tensioner in that engine. Polaris uses a hydraulic tensioner and it is failing in my machine. This will be the next maintenance issue to deal with. Keep up the good work. And Doug....10 hours in your own shop is far better than leaving to make money for someone else :-)

Big difference between "assembling" and "building"... Building = check ALL Clearances. Good news is metals and tolerances on today's engines are very consistent compared to the old days... For those that don't know, it also makes a difference what lube is used on the rod bolts bolts when they're torqued...
@johnhelbig41155 жыл бұрын

Yep they have sleeves, but they are cast in so it isn't obvious

I think the two motor builds are reflections of their owners. Doug would never re-use rod bearings and tty bolts on his yxz. Leonardo’s engine motto is “eh, it’ll be fine.”

I work at a Polaris dealership been there for about 10 years in Pascagoula Mississippi my boss doesn't even ride ATV or side-by-side he strictly in it for the money I've tried to get him to let me build a turbo mud machine and he won't do it we have one older model turbo RZR in the showroom it's been sitting there for almost 2 years anyway the point is I would love to drive a fast razor or Can-Am I love the Can-Am the new one I had a head on car wreck which damage my feet and legs but I'm able to walk with a cane so it's a little hard for me to mash the gas I would have to put a softer spring in the gas pedal hopefully one day I can meet you and maybe go riding I don't know that's a long time in the future I'm sure y'all have one of the best side-by-side KZbin that I sing glad y'all are doing good with y'all business
