Always great to see young minds take a keen interest in science and pursue a career in science rather than trying to crack JEE and eventually settle for a software engineer job in Bangalore.

Movie people are phonies, but rising to the top in a sports field requires being the best in the world and a lot of effort. That is not a phony. The Uk economy is struggling and there aren’t many jobs there. It’s a very overhyped country. I wish he didn’t go there. IIIT and CMI offers direct admission to people who do well in IMO but they are going abroad. I guess the research culture in abroad universities is more evolved than India and people who do well in Olympiad are inclined to research. I really wish someone like him didn’t go abroad but there’s too much to change in our universities and too little is being done.

Here is how I did with binomial theorem only. 111^111 = (104+7)^111(same as he started) So in binomial expansion (104)m+7^111 So we now have to only take care of 7^111.(since 104 is already a multiple) 7^111=7×7^110=7×49^55 This can be written as 7×(52-3)55 7×(13m-3)^55 In this binomial expansion the constant term is -2^55 and rest are divisible by 17 Now we take care of -1×7×3^55 This is same as -1×7×3×3^54 and since 3³ is 27 I write -1×7×3×(27)^18 This is same as -1×7×3×(26+1)^18 -1×7×3×(13m+1)^18 In binomial expansion of (13m+1)^18 term which is not a multiple is 1(constant term) That is the remainder is -7×3=-21 So as to obtain the actual reminder we add with 26(nearest multiple greater than 21) which will give you 5. 🤓

It would be great if kids at navodaya vidyalayas could get more exposure to things like olympiads. I think we will find some talent there if they are exposed to a higher level of problems and skills from class 7. say during summer breaks etc. Of course i don't mean they will get IMO medals but if even one or two of them every year get to regional or national medal levels it will be a big confidence boost for kids coming from rural backgrounds. As a Math graduate from Mumbai University & later a PG and certified by IIT Bombay, I am a Mathematics Teacher in Japan for IGCSE & AS/A Level in an International school in Tokyo since last 8 years & next year my son is writing IITJEE too, I really appreciate Rushil Mathur for the initiative, best wishes for his bright future. I think India is the still good for training at undergraduate level, however for PG onwards Bharat needs to make facilities at global level in research. Whether this generation picks up engineering in India or abroad, the nationalistic & patriotism should be developed in our kids at an early age. As a Teacher I felt the competition is too steep in our country and human resource is not valued enough, the companies do background check for candidates, why can't we have background check for organisations, schools & colleges too, especially in private schools & colleges. The fees are hefty for kids but teachers are not fairly remunerated, so there is a brain drain even at good teachers level too. So I feel good teachers from Bharat are empowering the whole world, we should make our systems so strong that there should be reverse brain drain back to our motherland. I am glad that my son rejected MEXT scholarship to Japan as he wanted to give IITJEE Advance paper in 2025 May. If our future generation is empowered and the ecosystem is provided and teachers are given the best career options in par with corporate jobs India will become the Academic spotlight in the world once again like when it was during Nalanda, Takshila, Kerala school of astronomy and mathematics etc.
