77. I suspect this virtually guarantees a trade just to further secure more quality frontcourt depth. But for all that is good and holy give Omax consistent minutes. We need to know now if he's a hooper.
@cadrollhunting356413 сағат бұрын
@@carnivalgods4573 We already know that Omax is not a hooper, he is a great athlete with very limited BB skills on a NBA level.

I wouldn't call Luka injury prone. Part of the issue is that Luka us so durable that he manages to play through injury which makes his body have to compensate in different ways. I only hope that during this time away from the court that he focuses on his physical conditioning.

@juju-vl7oj20 сағат бұрын
It sucks that now he will likely not reach 65 games therefore can’t win mvp or make 1st team all-nba for the 6th straight year , but as long as the Mavs can stay in range of a top 6 seed by the time he comes back and he’s 100% for the playoffs that’s what matters most.

@brightsidemr889912 сағат бұрын
luka is a great player but if he play too much ball handling it will risk him bad injury in the long term. and every time he do that another player & bench will not be able to step up their game. he should learn rhythm to manage his energy along the game just like kyrie did to avoid injury. Kai able to encourage another player to play better while he is also play the best. please just told him

Lukas birth certificate may show 25 but his body based on number of games he has played as a professional is not good. Hopefully he just makes a commit to loose 20 lbs and play around 210 to 215lbs. Just reducing his weight by 10 to 20lbs will play hugh dividends in his longevity to play at a high level in the NBA. Great opportunity for PJ/Klay/Grimes & Liv to step up and play at a higher level. SD/Gaff/Maxi we need better play. Iving will now be drawing the top defender and getting doubled and tripled as Luka has been getting.

Can we at least consider the possibility that his weight has something to do with this? I'm not saying he's overweight, but he is stocky. With the amount of games he's played in the past few years, having a heavier build has to take its toll on his legs, more than a lighter, more lithe frame.
@jondill543512 сағат бұрын
You don't say that with kevin Durant...he has been dealing with the same thing...why u say it with luka...luka is not overweight.
@Avarice-Zero12 сағат бұрын
@@jondill5435 Luka has been overweight in the past. When you watch him play, he doesn’t move as fluidly as he used to because of his size. While it may not be fat, extra muscle can also make it harder for him to perform at a higher level. He could easily overcompensate for his reduced mobility compared to when he was younger and slimmer. It would be beneficial for him to consider losing some muscle and incorporating yoga into his routine.

Honestly, as bad as this is, i took todays statement as positive news. When it happened, i immediately thought he tore his achilles. If they say at least a month, that is still ok for a calf strain, severe ones take 3 months to heal, so the MRI must have been not that bad. Luka is definetely injury prone and other than you i do believe his conditioning plays a role as well, he is definetely 20 pounds heavier than he should be. I agree the Mavs should be very cautious with this injury and leave Luka out until the all-star break.
@SDesWriter14 сағат бұрын
What bullshit. You have no earthly idea how much he actually weighs but you’re sure it’s 20 pounds more than he should weigh. Of all the dumb ass comments to make. Just what exactly is the ideal weight for a 68 point guard who averages 10 rebounds and 10 assist a game?
@cadrollhunting356413 сағат бұрын
@@SDesWriter I mean, lets be honest here, you can just see with your own eyes that he is not in the best shape he could be in. There are not many other players like that in the NBA, Jokic, but he does not drive to the basket with all the stop and go like Luka does. Zion is an other example just a bit more extreme and he is going through very similar injury problems just like Luka. It is also very known, especially in Europe, that Luka drinks and smokes cigarettes, which is extremely unprofessional for a guy earning that kind of money. I have been a huge Luka fan even before he came to the NBA and he just gets too much leeway because of his status in the organisation. I get it, when everything comes easy and without effort the way it did for Luka since he is 16 it is easy to slag off and if you still suceed at this level, that can be hard to overcome. If Luka really wants to get to the very top though, it is time to grow up in terms of being in shape and also in terms of his antics on the court with all the complaining, doing that at 18/19 is understandable, at 26 it becomes slightly embarrassing.
@SDesWriter13 сағат бұрын
@ so no, I don’t have to acknowledge that he’s not in great basketball condition. Before his wrist injury he was fourth in the league in minutes played which you can’t physically do if you’re not in good condition. You can talk all you want about Zion but he’s literally the opposite of Luka whereas he’s much heavier and is an explosive leaper who depends on that for his scoring. If you’d like to talk about calf strains and their dependence on someone’s conditioning, we can talk about Aaron Gordon straining his calf on Christmas and look at his physicality and body type or we could just look at Giannis last year having a calf strain while walking the ball up court Unguarded. I’m kind of curious if you’re going to make the claim that Giannis is in bad physical condition and must drink and smoke too much if that’s what causes calf strains. You know the problem with the eye test is you don’t actually see the players, you see them in their uniforms so you literally have no idea if he’s pudgy or fat or in solid condition. And you’re gonna have to forgive me if I ignore your medical diagnosis since I don’t know how long you’ve been a practicing doctor .
@cadrollhunting356413 сағат бұрын
@@SDesWriter I am not saying his conditioning is the sole reason for the calf strain, but i am convinced it plays a role. It has not only been the calf, knees, ankle and the heel have also been a problem. And yes, you can see it while he is wearing a uniform, put Luka next to an average NBA player and you can clearly see that Luka has way more body fat, or are you really thinking that Luka is hiding a six pack under that uniform? I am also not talking about his stamina, sure he can play a lot of minutes, but he could clearly be in a better physical condition to reduce the strain on his body. Lukas playstyle is extremely taxing for his lower legs, even more than zion i would argue. Lots of drives through traffic, stopping on a dime, step backs etc.
@artalvarez608017 сағат бұрын
Poor conditioning,he is to young to be having this issues.
@frgabrielmary462014 сағат бұрын
Zion is younger. Luka definitely has more basketball "miles" on his body, but both have a similar problem. Zion is heavier, but the principle is the same. I just don't see how you can play this game at an intense level on a beefy frame for years. It's not surprising that longevity masters like LeBron invest millions per year in conditioning and maintain low body fat.
