Thank you Jason Kidd for having faith in Spencer and encouraging him to keep shooting until the shots started falling again. 6-11 FG and 4-7 3PT against the Hawks tonight. Mavs win. GRATITUDE. I love this team!

There’s a reason why Jason Kidd makes decisions we don’t like but we sure we’re rewarded💙🤞🏽

Great bounceback win!! However, the Mavs could benefit from more practice on their zone defense. There were numerous gaps, and at times, players found themselves in positions where they weren't guarding anyone. You can play zone while staying engaged with specific offensive players, but too often, they were just occupying a spot without any offensive player to check. Tightening up these defensive schemes would make a significant difference.

I think the Mavs are probably one of the most boring teams to watch. They don't play any intelligent basketball. It's all just hard playing style. Everyone just makes sure they get there shots. There's no distributing, or swinging the ball around. Kidd sucks, and I feel bad for Klay. You can tell he hates this team. Anytime anyone drives through the lane and defense collapses, you can tell it's not even a blip on their radar to kick the ball back out for a wide open 3. This with a guy like Klay on your team is wild. They are so underachievers on offense compared to their potential. They could have any team on skates for the whole game if they wanted to.

A Suns fan just posted a video on yt with a compilation of 10 nba team practices. At the end of the video, he declares the Mavs team practice his favorite because of the JOY that they play with. I'm with that guy. Please check out that vid for some inspo

If anything I think Mavs suffer from the opposite. Teams like the Celtics, Cavaliers and usually the Nuggets play a smart brand of basketball. It feels like they run actions ratherr than relying on stars. Kidd was a point guard so it makes sense that he'd be biased towards letting offensive stars just go to town. What happens with the Mavs is oftentimes they seem to be playing with their gizzard/raw id/sheer will and while last year that was going very well, this year it's not and it's making this team embarrass themselves, which is why they're trying to adapt. They already figured out this wasn't sustainable during that Celtics series. Luka's getting less touches, trying to get used to more off-ball movement. There are games where Kyrie takes less attempts. Kidd's trying to get more players into the game, more ball movement, less predictability but the issue is that sometimes in the clutch you need to just do what's been working. Pushing the paint when you have a size advantage, letting Klay score when he's 3/5 from the three. Not forcing Luka to chuck the ball from the logo in hopes for a hail mary highlight which just isn't going to get us a high seed in the playoffs. Luka being out is a blessing in disguise. Guys have been able to step up and Kidd has a better understanding of our depth and how to use it now. Luka needs to get his efficiency up and Kidd needs to resist the temptation to throw up prayers in the clutch. Also, our younger guys need to get better at communicating, and you can see during games that Kyrie's constantly bringing this up. They'll get it together.

I dont know if you know this but the Mavs were in the finals just last year and Klay went 0 for 10 the last game. Do you even watch the games?
