Was there a reason this wasn't published in 4K? I understand a lot of people don't have 4K monitors yet, but to "future-proof" this video, and more importantly publishing a higher quality/resolution video would really help with these comparisons test shots.

AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke editing 4K isn't as easy as 1080. Maybe their computer couldn't handle it and they couldn't be bothered to proxy edit

The gopro would look far more distorted at 4k due to it's fishEye. when you drop the resolution it uses the center of the sensor. so seeing the full 4k you'd see the huge distortion. Look at 4k on other videos. poles on the edge are banana shaped. Gopro have an on board processor to reduce distorting, obviously it cause video degradation

It might be because of the crazy long render time for 4k videos on KZbin.

There are huge compression artifacts in the forest scene. I know youtube degrades quality, but that was far below youtube's capabilities. What resolution was set on the Mavic? I think you can get best effects recording in 4k and downscaling to 1080p in post (at least for non-4k viewers). It looks like the bitrate is a weak point of Mavic, cause it's only 60Mbps for a 4k mode. Don't know what's the max for a 1080p.

i bought a headset at bestbuy, it was like $120 at the time, they broke about a year and a half later, so i went back to bestbuy and returned it for original price, bought the same headset for $65, and went on a shopping spree with my $55 profit. i have no idea why or how that warranty is working out for best buy.

Go pro definitely had the most realistic colorization and I much prefer the wide FOV as well. For some reason I'm beginning to feel you guys are just full out promoting the Mavic in every one of your videos

People may like the saturation of MavicPro, but anyone coming from a filming background can remember the big to-do about Canon's use of Technicolor's Cinestyle profile. It was flat in order to be able to "Exploit a far greater dynamic color range when shooting in difficult lighting conditions." -technicolor. So another good test would be low/bright light conditions. If there is no loss of color range in the MavicPro, then good.

I have noticed this in other videos of the hero 5 cameras. I think that it only happens while using using the video stabalization so GoPro needs to do a bit of work on their processing.

First mavic shot with volvo looks soft misfocussed, focus close on own car hood. The rest of the shots are so small and compressed (1/4 HD down from 4k) that can't really tell any difference - they are all pretty bad/unusable. This is the best test setup comparison on the net so far so any chance of a short 4k split screen video?

I've watched your video on the battery bunkered it does help on how to keep your battery safe while charging and storing. But it would help me a TON if you dedicated an episode or vlog to sharing how to keep your batteries not puffed in the first place, like what voltage to store them at, what voltage to run them down to, and what happens when you store them charged. I've read all around but generally you guys make it easier to understand.

SitOnMyFace for transport Mavic wins, but don't discount what you get with karma...hero 5, quad, and removable gimbal for $1099. makes it a bit more competitive. for me I would still chose Mavic $999. for occasional flying types karma is viable option.

They did this with a laptop, they were not bale to repair 3 times sent out and refunded me the full cost. I bought a laptop 2.5 years better in tech for less and I had left over store credit. One thing you forgot to note is you don't get refunded for the original warranty cost. This is how it works out to their favor, that original warranty is profit and they return your broken one back to the manufacturer for credit to a new one in stock or a refurbished one. I wonder now that you shared this is they will change the policy, lol.

I don't know the cameras but I do know cameras like Red look very desaturated coming from the camera, like the GoPro 5, but that is intentional because you always color correct the footage and the sensors try to capture as much as they can. Maybe that is the case with GoPro 5 too, that it by design is not optimized for unedited viewing? That said, the Mavic looks great and was the only one capturing that Volvo's blue color.

They no longer replace GoPros only fix them. It also costs you I think 49.00$. If it's unfixable they will then replace it but I believe you have to buy another warranty. I just broke my hero 5 black today.

Everyone always fails to mention the Versatility of the GoPros field of view options. GoPro can have wide or even narrow pictures with close to no rounding on the edges.. which is freeking awesome and I think it's huge to have any of those pictures in 1 camera.
