Billy Bragg is the man who set me on my path as a singer-songwriter, I owe him a huge debt. Also, Mavis Nicholson, what a terrific interviewer and journalist. Respect to both.

Hard to think I looked that young when I first saw Billy in 1983. We're both a bit older now of course.

What happened to these revealing and simple interviews where the interviewed is the importance and not the interviewee. Thank you for everything Billy, especially not taking yourself so seriously in your older age. The issues are what matter not the person saying them. Still think your chip shop song is the best. Even if you did not write it you inspired it. Up the revolution brothers.

9:32 By 28 most people have SETTLED for someone. That's so sad. Settling for someone because you can't find the one you want and you don't like your own company. People are strange! Thanks Billy for an excellent gig the other week in Fremantle, West Aus. Wish I could've been at the other two, as well!

Unions are why we stopped doing 14 hours 5 days a week and 8 on a Saturday. Why I have 5 weeks holiday, wh I have two years full sick pay. Why I got a 14% pay rise last year - punch up, not down - down is playing their game. ❤

"i dreamed i saw phil ochs last night", "greetings to the new brunette" "trust" and "a new england" alone make this guy as endearing as possible to me. i saw him over 30 years ago and he gave a tremendous show. he has a friend who's a musician and podcaster and they supposedly drank joe hill's ashes. i don't know if that was a good idea even symbolically but it certainly makes me hold otis gibbs in higher regard that billy chose him to partake in world's untastiest drinking game.

In Australia we have compulsory voting. People can still throw their vote, but they have to show up to do it. I think it's a great system.

What a pretentious twat the interviewer is and all credit to Billy for not just getting up and walking out (as John Lydon would have done).Instead he calmly and articulately states what his principles are and shows an unwavering adherance to the truth. It's always people with the least to offer who are unable to see when they are in the presence of genius. I never fail to be blown away whenever this man opens his mouth. His honesty, integrity and humility are truly inspiring.
