Look. This studio can go a long way. The character MAVKA... just AMAZING! That is like the perfection of ART. The graphics were great as well. However, there was something off with the voice acting. So, if they fix it. This studio can be one of the greats. And again... the character creation... MAVKA is JUST BEAUTIFUL.

The flute in this movie is original folk ukrainian song "krokoveje koleso" (round dance).

Disney is an animation studio that has been around for a long time and has created many cartoons (for example animated film Moanna or Rapuncel). But this cartoon (Mavka. The forest song) was not created by Disney, but by the young Ukrainian animation studio "Animagrad". In general, animation studios that create cartoons in the world of many famous and not so famous. Watched the movie today. Horrific Odala (Othal, Othala) rune symbol imprinted throughout the movie. Definitely not ancient Slavic, rather very disturbing. In a children's animated film, are you real??? 🤔

There are many elements of Ukrainian culture in this cartoon, but they definitely got it wrong with the runes. Runes are definitely not ancient Slavic symbols, and although there are signs of runic writing on the territory of Ukraine, there are not many of them and they are associated with specific archaeological cultures, which explains their spread from that region. The error seems to have arisen because someone with them got carried away with someone else's pseudo-scientific work, instead they needed to work with and take inspiration from specialist archaeologists and historians. Some Ukrainian bloggers who analyzed this cartoon criticized it a lot for its use in general, and for the thoughtless use of some of them (what you noticed).
