For those still confused, it’s the intro to Blackened played “unreversed.” What I mean by this is that the intro to Blackened is actually a reversed recording. This was done intentionally, as the backwards playing helps give it an eerie feeling. If you “unreverse it” you get something like what the OP added at the end of this video. For anybody curious, this “unreversed” track is not a part of the original album, but there are videos out there on KZbin with this intro “unreversed” you wanna check it out.

It's really not that bad in the original, a lot if the agression would be lost with more bass.

@@Xirque666 ??? Bass doesn't reduce aggression, it increases it. Listen to stuff like Death and tell me how the audible bass somehow makes it less aggressive, that's ridiculous.

Mistake in transposition at 17:13. I would never have otherwise made such a critical comment, but I feel that the work is otherwise so flawless that it's a monumental accomplishment. I memorized every bit of nuance in this masterpiece, or at least I think I have. This work is brilliant. Great job!

Aside from being funny as hell, this also proves that ...And Justice For All is their best album regardless of sound Blackened's intro is STILL ethereal as fuck ...And Justice For All's outro harmony section is STILL one of the most beautiful metal moments of all time Eye of the Beholder's harmony section is STILL an underrated banger One's breakdown is STILL one the greatest riffs in all of history The Shortest Straw's solos are STILL some of Kirk's best work even through the (arguably) kinda messed up midi Harvester of Sorrow STILL sounds downright evil in all respects, though especially the solo and the harmony section at 41:23 The Frayed Ends of Sanity's middle section is STILL one of the greatest thrash moments in the genre's history To Live Is To Die is STILL one of the most beautiful songs of all time, This album, even through goofy fuckin mario horns, is still a masterpiece

Funny thing: In the early times of guitar distortion ('50s and '60s), it was used to emulate brass and wind sections. It seems now that a brass section is an excellent alternative to emulate distorted guitars. 😂😂😂 Awesome work, btw!
@technoguyx Жыл бұрын
Sort of accurate, some early fuzz/distortion boxes for electric guitar were indeed marketed as emulating horn sections. Maybe the concept of applying effects to a guitar signal was so experimental back then that it was best understood through analogy and imitation by musicians, it's fun to think about that. For instance Keith Richards used a Maestro fuzz for the main riff in Satisfaction, intending for the track to be rerecorded later with brass instruments -- which never happened.
