MAWP, MAP, Test Pressure, and Other Pressures Calculation

How to Calculate MAWP, MAP, Design Pressure, Test Pressure, and Others
Outline (Definition, Reference, Equation, Consideration, and Application):
- MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure): Design condition, UG-98, To define test pressures
- MAP (Maximum Allowable Pressure): New and Cold condition, ambient temperature, no corrosion allowance, to limit the pressure of the equipment
- MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure): Same with MAP
- MOP (Maximum Operating Pressure): To limit shutdown or alarm level of the vessels, (0-95% of MAWP or MAP)
- Design Pressure: To be used for strength calculation, 10-26% above operating pressure
- Hydro-static Test Pressure: To test the strength of the equipment, UG-99, 1.3 x MAWP, water fluid
- Pneumatic Test Pressure: To test the strength of the equipment, UG-100, 1.1 x MAWP, air-fluid
- Relief Pressure: To protect over pressure, using pressure relief valve or pressure safety valve

Yes, MAWP and MAP should be higher than design pressure because we have to choose the nominal thickness higher than the required thickness
