Yes vote UAP and you guarantee Liberal a closer step to a win. How can you vote for an unethical, immoral party that is the same as labor, liberal, Greens, the animal party and the justice party?

This is the only silly policy from UAP. Sounds good at a glance, but 3% fixed compared to rates in other countries will kill the Australian dollar and result in even higher inflation of imported goods (for which so many goods / foods we consume every day are imported). Bad policy this one. Markets should be left to be markets. Self regulating without governing. It is only higher rates that will stop the inflation.

First of all, political parties cannot regulate interest rates.. only the reserve bank can do that… secondly, even if you could it would lead a massive mis-pricing of an already deformed housing market. You guys know this so this ad is pretty insulting to peoples intelligence.
@personalfreedom27002 жыл бұрын
@Buddy You cannot artificially suppress interest rates on home loans when those interest rates are a dynamic price correction mechanism of global macro-economic pressures. Floating interest rates are a core feature of economic principles, and only socialist countries allow their ruling party to price fix rates, and thereby ruin their currency and make international investment abandon the now anti-free market aussie dollar. Also, as a political party you cannot promise that the reserve bank will react to your policies in such a specific way. This is so dumb.
@lukeboccaccio62572 жыл бұрын
The RBA is "independent" by the reserve bank ACT 1957. Previously our government (through the Commonwealth Bank) set interest rates. This changed to allow the RBA to take control. The government can re-establish through the constitution, section 51. Part 13. Thos would allow the government to cap interest rates for 5 years and then re-evaluate.
@personalfreedom27002 жыл бұрын
@@lukeboccaccio6257 So you reckon a majority of sitting members would vote to abolish the reserve bank by annulling the reserve bank act? Any that this would somehow pass preliminary legal counsel and be just fine and dandy with the holders of our sovereign debt, bonds and treasuries? This is all such fantasy.
@41srn2 жыл бұрын
It would be for existing home loans not new home loans so wouldn't affect the housing market also the constitution gives the Federal Government the power to regulate the banks. This is nothing new. In the 1980s interest rates were capped at 13.5% when they soared to approximately 20%
@personalfreedom27002 жыл бұрын
@@41srn all that does it give massive financial benefits for existing homeowners and then people who cannot afford a house or are looking for a house get screwed in two huge ways, firstly now they can afford a house even less because the government decided to give miracle rates to prior homeowners, secondly those who miss out now have to (along with everyone else) subsides those homeowners via the tax revenue required to fund that rate spread… its such a terrible economic plan, its anti-democratic, anti-free market, and extremely social divisive as its takes from the poor to give to the rich in a massive way… this is so dumb
