Volk doesn't strike like Max does. I see a lot of people trying to use mma math with this fight because of volk. But Max is a much better pure boxer than volk is. Max uses leg kicks, sure, but a lot of volks game is based off that leg kick almost as his jab. It's how he gets his game going. Max will pull off 3, sometimes up to 6 punch combos while mixing up their targets. We haven't seen ilia go up against that yet. Don't count Max out ever. And do you really think topuria is gonna answer Max if he points to the center of the octagon I the last ten seconds? I highly doubt it. 😂

Ilia does his best work striking up against the cage. Max's footwork is based a lot on backing up to, while drawing in his opponent, striking, and circling away from the cage (Take the gathje fight for example). It's ironic topirias nickname being matador. I personally think Max has a good chance to use his footwork and kickboxing combos to force ilia into a dog fight, almost leading the dance like a matador. And there's no bigger dog than max holloway as of right now.
