This is the corporate world in a nutshell. Stephen ain't been s**** and skip left The ratings were fine and he got crushed regularly. Not because Max was trying to crush him but because Steven A. Has low self-esteem and has a fear of inferiority.... It's sad. He's a grown man with millions of dollars and he still can't go over his inferiority. Complexes

Bro I legit don't watch American sports or tv anymore and this is coming from an insane 90's NBA on NBC kid with Champion Jerseys and Penny Hardaway sneakers. NFL 80s and 90s Giants. Huge fan of Baseball and now nothing. I refuse to be apart of the culture war of USA. I grew up in the 80s and 90s in a mixed very mixed area of NYC and high school everyone got along. Legit everyone. Nowadays this USA tries to make it seem we always had problems. Done. I been watching the current Sumo Tournament in Japan that's going on right now and I am loving it. I will continue to check out other overseas sports and support Hockey outside of the NHL because the NHL simps now for Americans and ESPN too

Max Kellerman is an under-appreciated genius. The methodical ways in which he angles his argument mimics a chess game. He positions it such that the rebuttal from his counterpart(s) further strengthen his point the further they dive into theirs, and he knows it. Because as soon as they scoff at his point, he shoots empirical evidence right at them, and all they can say is, “But you was never an athlete”.

He repped us hard. Stephen A instead of being appreciative of the solidarity, he choose ego, jealousy and inadequacy. His selfish ego could not accept that Max was spitting the gospel on Black issues better than him. SAS always had the perspective of corporate America first, racial equality second.

Max peddling the fake woke victimhood narrative prevalent in the black community doesn't make him cool. It makes him an insufferable, preachy ideological clown who's concerned with boosting his social profile by saying all the socially/corporate accepted and approved things. But that's also due to the fact that he belongs to the small hat tribe that's anti-white and loves to pin races against each other. Apart from that, he was great as an analyst.

Max came with statistics, facts, and most important, respect. You didn't have to agree with him, but he was respectful about debating sports topics. Stephen A came with opinions, loud angry opinions, and seemed to get louder and crazier the more his opinions were opposed with facts. If you tear down First Take and look to rebuild a professional sports show, I'm starting with Max over Stephen A.

The thing I loved most about the Max Kellermen era of the show post Skip, is that Max seemed to bring some intelligence to the show. Of course he wasn't always right and sometimes went extreme for the sake of entertainment, but Stephen A had to hate that Max, in many of the debates (especially related to the NBA), Max came in prepared, well reasoned, and made absolutely sound arguments. Does it mean he's a lesser person because he didn't cover teh NBA for a living? Or that he never played in it? Believe it or not, you don't need to do those things, to be knowledgeable of it, especially in a debate setting. This is evident when you see all these basketball youtube channels blowing up, who make great, sound, arguments and points - even though they aren't journalists nor are they people who played in the NBA. I know some NBA players will act cocky and act like because you never played in the NBA you don't know - but basketball is a game. For some, a children's game. It's not complicated if you care to learn it and the intricacies of it. And with all the data we have, it's not hard to come up with some really compelling arguments. Stephen A's issue is he never RESPECTED Max. And when guest after guest kept taking Max's side because Stephen A sounded rediculous... he had enough. John Stockton absolutely was as deserving to be on the dream team as the other guy. Period. There is no reason to disrespect and dismiss one of the greatest point guards to ever play the game.

Steven A Smith is right about every point he made about Thomas being superior to Stockton. I like Stockton. Solid, durable player. But he aint crunch time elite. No one ever feared Stockton. Thomas was feared and respected (and hated). Even MJ says as much and even though he hated Thomas and that is the only reason Thomas was left off the dream team: bitter revenge by MJ. If you ever watched a match up between Thomas and Stockton, Thomas torched Stockton almost every time. More offensive skills, far more speed. Stockton got his assists to due to the greatest of Malone, his size and strength.

That was the double edge with max though and kind of a point to SAS. When max did have a hot take or something created “shock value” it was 9/10 strictly analytics based without complete or proper context. Love him or hate him, max has said some of the most outlandish things in sports talk history. “TOM Brady and the cliff (4 years early at that), Kawhi being more clutch than Kobe, LeBron was put here to be the greatest PG that ever lived (current is the all time leader in turnovers). Etc. Not saying he was a terrible talking head, but he def only understands black and white and that’s never the true story in sports.
