Doing a perfectly timed protego is one of the most satisfying things in this game. It’s like when you counter an enemy in Batman Arkham Knight.

hmm. this is a lot different fight than when I did it at level 17, lol! You're doing tremendous damage.

what are your secrets to perfect the protego timing?
@JasonBrodyGaming Жыл бұрын
haha theres no secret 😅 you just gotta practice the timings. I have spent 60+ hours in the game so far and most of which are invested in combats only

@@JasonBrodyGaming must be hella satisfying to get those perfect parries

You know the yellow warning indicator over your head? Wait till the two circles merge into one, then hit protego. That's how you parry the enemy's spell back towards them. It can be a bit tricky to time, especially on harder difficulties as the window is shorter. To counter-attack into a stupify (stun), after a successful block or parry, continue holding block. That should work. The most satisfyingly strong combo is to parry into a counter-attack. You reflect their spell, break their shield, & stun them for a long time. Perfect for dealing with multi-target fights & setting up combos. There's two talents that amplify parrying. One reflects two spells towards two enemies & the other creates a shockwave after a successful parry - knocking down surrounding targets. There's no cooldown on this, so playing defensive (blocking, parrying, & counter-attacking) can be super strong.

I see a surprising number of people who know nothing of this mechanic or confuse it with normal blocking. Normal blocking just deflects enemies' spells. Parrying reflects it back, breaking sheilds, dealing damage, & leaving them vulnerable to attacks.
