@@gwcrego ideology and speed and precision are definitely different worlds. I can agree with you. You have to be unique
@shredd5705 Жыл бұрын
@@gwcrego I don't think it sounds canned or unoriginal, especially for someone as young. You're being over-critical because his technical skill annoys you. You demand The Beatles level composition, because of his fast playing, instead of comparing him to average artist. Compared to most modern popular music out there, it actually has interesting chords and melodies. Most things playing on Top 50 charts now is just autotune and overused 4-chord progressions with silicon tits. Or rapping, even less to do with music People will never perceive fast things as "melodic". People can admit it sounds interesting or impressive, but they won't call it melodic, no matter how well it's composed. To be seen as "melodic" you need to play slow, then you can play something quite boring and people actually think you're a melodic player Comparing to Pat Martino is dumb, he's full on Jazz player. Why don't you compare to other fusion players? Fusion = jazz and rock combined... it's pointless to bring a jazz player into conversation if you don't even like Fusion. Personally I like fusion, normal jazz is less interesting because they don't use the far larger possibilities of distorted guitar. Distortion makes it a different instrument, one with tons more potential. That's why Guthrie Govan etc. use distortion, you lose so much of electric guitar's advantages if you don't have distortion and light strings. You lose the ability to bend... and to properly legato. Then you're left with only disadvantages (which guitar has many, compared to keyboard/piano)
