You don’t explode in empower so it’s pretty good 👍 if you can quell enough and dps enough to keep it going and be worth it.

(Peril reduction on Weakspot hit) perk on a Voidstaff basically gives free peril reduction since shooting a charged blast at head level autohits everyone in the aoe's weak point effectively reducing peril more than you charged for the attack

this build is so cool! I love being able to pump big damage, I have a pretty specific and odd playstyle so hear me out on this one. I love playing battlemages in any game and 40k isnt a exception, when I read that I could play melee psyker and the talent tree would allow for it i was so happy. I run blaze mk V, and void surge with smite as blitz for area CC when the armored elites start to overwhelm to get us breathing room. My talent tree is pretty much identical except at the first blitz split i went to smite and got both its talents for it as well, for scriers gaze I took everything i could going down its right tree, then lastly i went with disrupt destiny's tree and went all the way down and to the left and got everything i could. Purloin providence quells a SHIT ton of perils when hordes come, while stacking a hell of a lot of crit damage and weakspot damage. When scriers gaze goes up, and i start killing hordes i almost always max stack crit chance, crit damage, weakspot damage, and finesse damage, which i also have blessed on the sword to do bonus finesse damage while my perks are into crit. I shit you not, consistently getting 25-30 stacks of scriers gaze when used correctly and I dont ever have to stop swinging to quell perils after i reach 100 because purloin providence will do it for you. youll be swinging with 30 stack scrier and 15-30 stack destiny and literally nothing survives unless they have blunt armor so you cant swing, which is where the blaze sword and voidsurge comes. Its enhanced psyker swing actually allows you to swipe through armored elites. There are times where Id be fully stacked, enhanced my sword, and took out 5 armored ragers in one heavy swing (keep in mind the enhanced swing counts as warp damage so it works with all the talents). The play style isnt for everyone and it by all means isnt optimal at all since its weak to heavy armor, but its SO DAMN FUN, let the zealots with the hammers deal with all the armored guys haha

I tried using Assail but personally, I find Smite to be much more useful. Sure you can’t delete enemies as fast, but the ability to crowd control massive hordes and stun all enemies besides monstrosities is a massive help to a team with good composition and balance. Let the other classes mow down enemies while you render the masses helpless.

@@lv1543 haha, I just started playing dark tide a week ago and maaaaaan this game has some shitty ass players who can’t comprehend that it’s a coop game and don’t work together, don’t listen to audio (they’re deaf), don’t heal or drop ammo for others, etc. They play this game trying to speed run like it’s l4d2 and just screws us all over when they aggro when there’s a horde coming. So annoying. I was running a smite build too but yeah nobody does team play in this game so imma see if this build does any good for solo queue.

Like “wow look at all this damage im doing” meanwhile they let the entire team die and just run around the map using shroud every time a special is about to nab them. They dont actually have the ability to kill anything. The fact that they shroud so that all the aggro is on the team to die just so they can record a “clutch” is shitty and theres way too many people that do this

This game is honestly triggering me and it’s good but the players/community is so shitty/toxic that I might just uninstall it and go back to l4d2. While l4d2 can get toxic and have those speed runners/clueless players, it’s nothing compared to dark tide and most of the time everyone is playing like a team.

I just tried this build and never really knew how the scryer actually worked. Once I learned that getting to 100 ends the ability it has been a game changer. I’m really liking this build. It took me two games to get the hang of it and last game I didn’t even explode.

@@S0LOLevelingYou will eventually hit 100% because Gaze generates Peril at an accelerating rate. The key is not try to prolong it but get as many stacks as possible and reduce your cooldown so you can use it more often.

@@S0LOLeveling One thing important is that Gaze peril generation is really slow before reaching 20 stacks, you can do a quick quelling between firing your Blitz/Staff to keep it low. After 20-25 stacks it's better to just fire once or twice and stop quelling to let it reach 100%, then quickly quell to make use of the lingering effect. That said, Scrier's Gaze is really difficulty to make use of when paired with staff. You can try taking Reality Anchor for a start if you like this playstyle, but it fits Gun Psyker more.

Voidstrike has a few great blessings for your crit centric build: spirit blaze dot on crit, two projectiles on crit, and peril regen on weakspot hit. If you run peril regen on weakspot you can free clear whole hordes and use it to make the shots cost less during scrier gaze. Either of the other two dmg talents will be great, but the two shots on hit is probably the better pick for your build tree. Duel swords are always a solid pick, but the knife is also a great pick. Knife has mobility, great single target DMG, synergizes with crit builds, and would be a great anti-boss weapon for the kit with bleed blessings. The force swords are also a great option as two of them are top tier single target melee options and all three of them can also get peril regen on weakspot hit. The second blessing slot on force swords is super flexible; deflector, slaughterer, blazing spirit, etc are all great options

I just tested your build. As it turns out Scriers Gaze is best implemented with an Assail and Empowered Psionics. Everything in front of me is demolished. Anything not armored just dropped like flies and I kept my Peril below 75% all the time. Once it hits 30 stacks I just release all shards infront of the screen and even some armored heavies die except armored Ogryns. Coupled with 3 of 4% combat ability regen from accessories Scriers gaze is always ready to use. I only overloaded once because of DELAY from LAG. The cons - Has minimal damage to armor (Needs voidstrike staff or Surge Staff for this) - In Boss fights all you can do is delete the trash and elites supporting the boss - Monstrosities same thing - If you get swarmed and you are quelling the 30 stacks of Scriers Gaze you have no choice but to use Melee and chances are you will waste the 30 stacks.

Run a knife with bleed blessing for your anti boss contribution. You can also run a gun instead of a staff. A recon lasgun with burning on crit synergizes well with this build Alternatively, you can drop the empowered psionics and spec into the right most purple passive to gain more build flexibility, albeit at the cost of weaker shards

I just holde hordes with the chain lightning,you can hold the entire room of enemies for your team,add the chain sword for elites and other spicey ones and the voidstrike staff. I use dome shield to defend the whole team and when it disappears it grants 50 plus toughness if they're in it when it goes. This way I can hold the room with lightning and protect the team from long range fire at the same time

I started playing when it came to Game Pass and I've just hit level 30. I've pretty much randomly selected talents and strangely this is exactly what I've been running! My head has accidentally popped quite a few times!

I’ve been using scryer’s gaze on a melee rusher build for my psyker. I’ve still got some tweaking to do to really nail it down, and I haven’t tested it on Damnation missions yet but so far it works pretty well on Heresy difficulty. I just take all the toughness abilities I can, and the one ability that makes it so blocking increases peril instead of eating your stamina. Take a force sword with the blessing that blocks bullets and you’re basically untouchable while at low peril, and you can quell while still throwing out damage. Then you’ve also got the two talents that increase your damage and damage reduction the higher your peril, so no matter how much peril you’re at you’re still pretty tanky. Just Gaze for a speed boost, rush into a crowd and start hacking away. I come out of most missions with barely a scratch on me

I currently rock Smite with basically this. It's definitely a way more active playstyle lol. But learning it has led to a few "Why is it so effective for you? Smite sucks." This combos well though. Smite automatically ends when you reach 100 just like scrier's so you don't risk accidentally killing yourself unless you're really not paying attention. AND combine this with a surge staff and force sword, you have options for everything. Horde? Smite. Elites? Surge. Monstrosity? Sword. Get the block with peril and you can take on demonhost pretty reliably too.

Im using a lite version of this build at lv 22, (no increased quell speed and missing most of the earlier talents) Ive really been liking using a recon lasgun with a force sword, force sword for slashing through hordes and using the special on armored enemies mixed with the recon gun for when i run out of assail charges or my peril getting to high has been working great for me

This is exactly what I was looking for, a very high risk high reward build that keep me always on edge and make the game more exciting. I died like 3 times the first time I tried this but now I can manage Peril perfectly

i think i might try this but snaging the toughness on peril gain option and seeing about going with the classic warp charges for more flat peril resitance to see if that works out better. not to say empowered psyonics is bad but testing is fun and i bet i could find a way to make it work.

I went all the way to the left after assail however I spell it; then came down to the middle for the extra damage on assail and chance to not consume the shard which comes in handy when you’re just sending them out without thinking 😂

Almost my exact build, but I used the reduced peril gen instead of the finesse one, since I use the Purgestaff with stagger to do Massive CC to everything

Really fun build, good to have something new to play with Tho id replace a perk on the voidstriker with transfer peril, this allows you basicly to shoot half loaded shots almost for free And i would go for "Seers presence" and "one with the warp" cause one with the warp is just TOO GOOD not to use

As far as this build goes I think it's great I did however swap a few things myself I can't just go copy and paste your build that's not right but I can say for certain that this build will depend on the person it's a challenge but it's also rewarding so if you feel like the risk isn't for you then your good but for a guy like me lives on the edge already it's perfectly ok

So happy to find someone else using this build. I came up with it on my own after I kept seeing the same Psyker builds left and right and even post nerf, this build rocks (pun intended). It is so satisfying to properly manage your stacks and peril build up and output a ton of damage. I've breached 1M damage in several runs so far; it's incredible.

I like how people still don't understand that Sciers Gaze is for gun psykers and not for street magicians with a stick and magical flying stones You pop it in meele to get 30 stacks in 2 seconds, but its okay to be fucking dogshit at the game and explode in 3 seconds cause you use everything that gets you peril while scriers gaze is active or do nothing cause you have to quell every 0.5 seconds :3
