Don't cry, the BSer still said, "Amazing 9/10" LOL. This game is completely linear with no gameplay variety and extremely short (2 days). Levels take ages to load, yet you only get 1 door to open which takes you to the next area and a boring cut-scene - there's no exploration or side rooms to enter, just endless shooting to clear areas, repeat. No melee weapons or even grenades - what little there is to this game is clunky & glitchy. 5/10.

Goatlips sorry to say,but you are quite wrong when you say there are no side rooms,there are but you need to explore the levels properly,for example that cop you can encounter in some mission which requires you to go to a secret area in the map,plus you can replay the game to get the golden guns,try out the arcade modes etc the cutscenes may take long but they carry the plot further and also have some interesting parts wether it’s Max’s self conscience saying something,plus the multiplayer is fun.Also the gameplay isn’t that linear,it requires skill wether it’s making dives at the right time to get amazing kills and smart use of slowing down time,diving down a staircase and gunning down a bunch of enemies,it all feels rewarding and I understand the game of course comes with its flaws but no game is perfect,so it sure does deserve its rating of 9/10.

becasue this game is different that other simple games, it has tough story and great story line. I could beat Max Payne 1, 2 and 3 to just watching story and listening Max's narration. Shame that MP3 wasn't in NY, shame that it wasn't dark as Max Payne 1 but still was amazing. I love this series. Definitelly for adult players.

Back that days :) was sore winter and my first time with MP :) atmosphere was amazing. MP2 was great to but one place below MP1 for me. MP3 had amazing narration, as always, but yes. I agree. The best parts were in NY. And if MP3 would be there all the time I sure that MP3 would be my the best MP ever :) yeah Brasil is definitelly not in this atmosphere. But it won't anything that MP3 was game on 9/10 :)

I have to tell you something, I come back to this single review year after year, not for the game itself (sure, its an absolutely great game, I can't deny that), but it is for the memories I have with the video and review itself. The review's editing, music, and narration make this straight up one of the best videos I've seen in my life. Whenever I'm feeling down, I watch this. Whenever I want to feel badass, I watch this. Whenever I want to relive the glory days of the 360 generation, I watch this. It's so intense, so demanding in terms of speed, reflexes and accuracy that when I switch back to GTA I'm kind of invincible lol. This game's got me gritting my teeth throughout whole levels. I'm still playing that game now, I might have beaten it a hundred times

Though not perfect as a whole, there are a LOT of things this game does practically perfectly that most other games over a year later have yet to measure up to. The tightness of the shooting controls, the incredibly fluid animations, the realistic ways in which characters interact with weapons and the environment... Also have to mention the multiplayer's brilliant incorporation of Bullet Time and Shootdodge, which not only makes it feel like the only online game of its kind but also easily surpasses that "gimmick" feeling that you get with many other shooters built around a major feature like that (e.g. Fracture, Inversion, etc.). Can't help but feel disappointed that Rockstar's own GTA V hasn't quite carried over the same incredible shooting mechanics from MP3, yet at the same time, I'm also somewhat thankful, as it means that MP3 still has its own incredible niche that no other game has yet to fill for me.

not true at 3:45 you can stay silent at this point in the game by using your silenced pistol on both enemies before either of them fire a shot

I think that the only person who could pull off that "low and raspy voice of a broody tortured soul" successfully is Max Payne. Everyone else (Aiden Pierce and Batman) sounded totally stupid and generic using that voice.

GtaSanAndreas320 I suppose it's subjective. Hayter does it with a harder and rougher edge than Max, but Max does feel more organic. Steve Blum just makes any phrase of dialogue sound bad-ass, no matter the context. Pick your poison I guess.
