So for me the mouse is absolutely insane. I fixed the audio, I fixed everything. But mouse AND controller are both unusable. The camera automatically goes on top of his head when I move even a little bit, and it just spins in one direction no matter which way I move my mouse. I did the standalone audio fix, which fixed the audio but destroyed any shot at playing the game. If I don't do the audio fix, the mouse is fine.

The fix pack doesn’t show up for me unlike for you at 2:02 once the download is completed for some reason

That thing at 2:02 is the launch executable for Max Payne, that should come up whenever you hit Play on Steam whether you have the patch or not.

@@MattHall It didn’t show up at all even before downloading the patch but after tweaking a couple things, it now shows up and I’m able to play the game. However, there’s still this issue with a bunch of word texts showing up from the bottom of the screen in blue and it gets higher and higher till they start blocking the screen during gameplay and the cutscenes. Do any of you get this problem and Is there any way I can turn them off?

At this point I would suggest lookup up MagiPack Games, they have a repack of the game that should work well for you.

Is it a bug when Max Payne bullet time dodge is low to the ground? like the game is missing height data or something for the animation. Max Payne dodges very low to the ground like he is sliding across the floor. Is that how the game is (maybe I haven't played in years) or is this a bug and what is the fix for animation/height data?

Might be an issue with the framerate, there are other issues like that. Search for the Magipack Games repack. That should work right.

@@hiddenmachineannex i got it fixed right after I posted that comment. Think it was The MP Fix mod. High res textures, sound fixes and widescreen support. Works as intended now. 4k or 2k/60. fps.

bro i give up. I did everything in the video multiple times and tried other videos and fixes as well, been it it for an hour, and it still wont work. When the Max Payne game launcher opens up it doesnt show my graphics card and I dont have a lot of the settings shown in your video, then when i hit play it does nothing and closes out. That's an odd one, I haven't heard anything like that. It might be worthwhile to completely remove the game and start from a fresh installation just to troubleshoot. The fix pack is supposed to address that specific issue.

Max Payne 1 was an awesome game that brought me back retro memories. After completing it I also tried downloading max Payne 2 but from whichever site I downloaded it it wasn't working even with patch and change in compatibility settings. Instead I downloaded max Payne 3 awesome more modern game. Yesterday I downloaded some new files I found on doddyrepacks which have both max Payne 1 and 2 in 4 zipped files but the site doesn't have instructions on what to do. Suppose I unzip them and drag them all in one file.

Max Payne 2 does not require a fix, but there is a widescreen patch available that I would recommend

Definitely practice whatever caution you feel is best for your system, but it's been noted by a few other people to be a false positive. It can be a a common issue with some of these types of patches for old games.
