Fun Fact: Vladimir Lem's actor for the comic panels in the 1st Max Payne is Marko Saaresto, the lead vocalist of Poets of the Fall. Yes. Odin Anderson's younger self from the Alan Wake games! It's kinda sweet how the friendship's carried on to modern times with POTF and Remedy :D

Max Payne is probably my favorite game franchise, and it's amazing to remember that my dad bought me the first game when I was just 7 years old (in mid-2007). Max Payne 1 was one of the games that started my evolution as a video game player, from playing more "casual" games like fighting or racing and I started wanting to play a game for the story/narrative, and the fact that this game was the first that I played and having dubbing and texts in Brazilian Portuguese helped a lot. Max Payne 2 unfortunately I couldn't finish until today, but at the time it helped me a lot to want to learn English to understand what was happening. This game, Metal Gear Solid and God Of War were essential for me to want to seek out this additional knowledge. But the game's biggest contribution was introducing me to Poets Of The Fall, which is probably my favorite band, I mainly recommend the albums Carnival of Rust, Revolution Roulette, Temple of Thought and Jealous Gods, as well as the albums Live in Moscow and Alexander Theater Sessions. Max Payne 3 is a game that before its release I was worried about due to the various gameplay changes (being able to carry only 3 weapons, cover, etc.) and aesthetics (no more comics and taking place in my not-so-loved Brazil), but when I I really played it and I had to applaud what Rockstar managed to do, it's one of the best-made shooters on the PS3/Xbox 360. My only reservations are the frequent bugs (and some of them get in your way directly) and some problems with the representation of the Brazil, such as spelling errors and some characters speaking with accents that are clearly not from Brazil (most with Portuguese or Latin Spanish accents). Great video, keep up the great work... And yes, my name is Max, just a coincidence 🙃

It’s always funny when people say “oh at the end of 2 he accepted his grief,” his drug and booze addiction prevents him from getting over his depression because the withdrawal force you to go through intense hormone changes that leave you in a state of perpetual depression until you’re over it, max never gets over it he’s always hungover or trying to bury it with substances, it’s how he’s able to quit alcohol cold turkey because he’s still chewing codine

One thing that never made sense to me regarding the first game's plot is that it states Max and Alex became rather famous, with their faces plastered all on TV and newspaper clippings...yet no one recognized Max Payne as the same cop that was part of the highly publicized "cop duo" from only 3 years prior? No news people OR criminals? And the DEA didn't even change his name when he went undercover(which is the biggest head scratcher). He has the same name attached to a highly publicized cop. This has bothered me for over 20 years despite how much I love this game's story.

Recently completed the first Max Payne. The game was just packed with john woo inspiration. I believe what I like most about it is the fact that the game knows how to be fun with the gun play. I don't believe any shooter games with the same camera style at the time can compete with Max Payne. None.

I wish Remedy gets back the rights and remakes Max Payne 3. MP3 was a good game but didn't feel like anything from the remedy verse and felt more GTA5 esque. I want them to make MP3 non canon and rewrite the story to align with the feel of MP 1 and 2. That way they can cross over with the Alex Casey from New York in Alan Wake 2.

The enemies either leave Max alive, the sniper ALWAYS misses his head and shoots the hand instead, or Max takes the bullets straight on and still wakes up the next day with a fully functional body 😅

I'm definitely excited for the upcoming remakes of the first two entries. But having learned about James Mccaffrey's passing (I mean literally not 48 hours ago) I'm even more curious how Remedy/RockStar are gonna go about it. Are they gonna use his existing dialogue? Or would they take on the impossible task of trying to find someone else? Personally, I know what I would do. McCaffrey's voice & performance is sooooooooo distinct & iconic. I can't imagine that I'm alone in hoping that they use McCaffrey's voice and talents one last time. Guess we'll have to just wait and see, fingers crossed 🤞. For the time being I'm gonna remain optimistic, while looking forward for additional news/updates as well as their releases.

Yeah it's something to be happy if you finished the game on the hardest difficulty but it's not canon. The canon event is that mona and max go their own way. Mona just doesn't matter in the long way
