I really loved this game, but it's quite odd that the demo had more of the Nemesis that I wanted than the actual game. Brad barely shows up (why not have me defend the diner and show Dario's daughter die?), and you don't even go to the clock tower or city park. Nicolai should have been a final boss for Carlos, and I would have tried to tie Resistance to Outbreak more. The cameos by Marvin and Kendo feel shoehorned as fuck but honestly the laziest thing to me are the RPD puzzle solutions being the same as RE2, and also not having the Nemesis chase Jill through the RPD or the Hospital kinda stinks. That being said, I fully expect to see more free content, including what-if scenarios, mercenaries, and more costumes.

I unironically loved RE2 remake. As someone who missed out on the original it was really nice to see what some claim to be the definitive version of that game's story. It was just so well-crafted and honed to a razor's edge. Every item felt like it had a purpose and a reason for being where it is. The first time I played Claire's route I was on hard and I was really hurting for healing items. I dodged every enemy that I could and escaped the parking garage with barely a sliver of consciousness and what's the first thing I see when I open the gate? A green herb. For the entirety of that game it just felt like one of the developers was over my shoulder like "C'mon, you can do it! Keep going!" It took something that I normally don't like in video games, inventory management, and weaved it so seamlessly into the gameplay that half the fun of the game was figuring out what to do with your shit. I just think that this one needed some more time in the oven. It's clearly rushed and was probably pushed out to capitalize on resi2's success. It's not a total flop, but it's missing though lulls of exploration and puzzle-solving.

@fenderslasher Жыл бұрын
"Honed to a razor edge" is a bit much. The remakes have suffered from a terminal 'cut content' problem that actually diminishes the cannon roles of these characters in a big way. Originally, Claire was the A character in RE2, and Leon played the B campaign. In the remake, due to cut scenes and content, Leon's canon involvement in RE2 is very small. Ironic, when Leon is considered the face of the franchise. RE3 was critically dinged heavily for cutting nearly 1/3 to 1/2 of the original content. The city itself was a large part of the game and here in the RE3make, its is reduced to a single small area and the Nemesis has been reduced from an actual hunter with surprise encounters into a recurring sub boss.

@Ravenex23 жыл бұрын
The train section should actually be in the middle of the game, it should take a few hours to fully explore the city initially and iconic parts/areas of the game were cut out (like the clock tower, graveyard, Fox Park, dead factory, etc.). Also, Jill should have explored the police station and that should have been explorable for at least an hour if not 2 or 3 in itself (because they should be expanding areas and opening up rooms for exploration). Cut out the giant worm double boss fight and the awesome grenade launcher freeze rounds (imagine freezing a zombie's leg and seeing it come off in real time). The iconic scene of Jill being at the alter in the church by the clock tower, while Carlos then goes into the hospital. Nemesis' transformations are too jarring and rapid, just feel like his presence and combat potential is severely limited in this game. Nemesis feels horribly cinematic and scripted, while his boss battles are too easy/weird and he is not menacing because you don't run into him much where you have to escape him in real time. Nicolai is also supposed to die at the hands of Nemesis in a gruesome way at the end, not to mention they stripped out the unique decision making system when you encounter Nemesis. It's really lame and I wish the in-studio team kept this. Dodge mechanic is too convenient and there's no cool down period on it to limit its use (making encounters with enemies too lackluster). Where the hell are the puzzles? Every Resident Evil game should have 5 - 6 puzzles.......MINIMUM. This is why the best Remake is the remake of the original Resident Evil.

Hey Max some of the issues you may have been having with Enemy AI and whatnot is due to the fact you are playing the game at such a high frame rate. CarcinogenSDA has mentioned during his RE7 and RE2 Remake runs that uncapping the frame rate sometimes causes issues. And since they all use the same engine the same issue is present in RE3 Remake. It seems like they jumped the gun on this one, they should have waited longer to remake RE3 instead of having it start development with another team at the helm when RE2 Remake was nearing its final years of development. RE2 Remake came out last year, we could have waited another year or two before seeing RE3 Remake, if it meant having an experience that elevated the original story to new heights, with the RE2 Remake team working on updating all of the original content and adding even more to it. Instead, we got a milquetoast short single player story and a shallow multiplayer mode that I don’t see people playing for more than a month. When the price drops a bit, the RE2 Remake + RE3 Remake bundle will feel like a very complete package for new players at a very reasonable price, but I don’t see many people feeling satisfied with RE3 Remake by itself.

So in summary, Capcom should just do their own games from now on. Seriously! Everytime they try to outsource something, it goes downhill. You can tell Nemesis was DEFINITELY cut out from a bunch of stuff. Also his boss fights seemed like they were incomplete. There was probably a whole segment where Nemesis would chase you down with his RPG (Besides the first one) and lead into another boss fight. But instead, it transitions back to the Train Station where Mikhail sacrifices himself to stall Nemesis. From that point on, he's GONE.....not even chasing you or anything until his transformation. I had a feeling it might end up like this somehow, in my opinion they should've waited at least 2 more years before jumping back into RE. Granted it's cool they tried to get something done relatively early, but in the long run it would've done them better to let the "Main Team" work on this project and polish it for a while. Actually if my lore is correct the NET parasite that Nemmy is infected with is actually intended to mitigate rapid or intense mutations, as those can actually weaken the tyrant in terms of survival, but it increases their strength significantly, Nemesis was designed to be the ultimate Tyrant, but the expense and long production time only saw 2 test subjects and one deploy. It doesn't make sense that he would mutate so rapidly and intensely at least to me looking at established lore.

1st.: I felt that the hospital-part changed for the better. The atmosphere was frightening like REmake2 and the Hunters onehit killed me way too easy, so keeping your distance in these narrow hallways made me feel trapped and that added even more to the experience I had. 2nd.: You cannot compare it to REmake2 in terms of how it does not pull you in immediatly after finish, because REmake2 has another character to play a different campaign with. 3rd.: Imagine this game without dodge, it would be frustrating as fuck. The way Nemesis pursues you in REmake3, you cannot do shit, if you have the same movement mechanics like in REmake2. I have to admit, I did not think of using grenades on him, so I guess it's kind of a buzzkill if just one throw makes him fart out a chest and kneel. And personally, the dodge did not work all the times I wanted to, but maybe my reaction is worth nothing, compared to your fighting game style timing. 4th.: In comparison, it is not as good as 2, I agree. As you've said yourself, REmake3 will not be as good, because REmake2 was a brand new experience. So 3 was more of the same new RE style and you cannot get the same reaction out of that again. 5th.: First run on 2 (Leon A) took me about 18h (slowplay+explore) and for 3 it was somewhere arround 8h slowplay, but this can also be explained with experience in gameplay from REmake2. For me personally, Resident Evil 3 Remake was a 8.5/10 as a whole (bossfights were kinda lame), but a 10/10 on story and characters, that shit was top notch.

A good summary and well thought out points. This game has its issues, certainly. But it's still very strong on many points. I personally feel the extra difficulties give it more replay ability over RE2 by a large margin. All 4 RE2 Campaigns are incredibly similar. On a side note over half of the issues I saw Max having were of his own making and it was frustrating to watch him blame the game.

for me i feel that the game empowered the player WAY to much against Nemesis not just in a gameplay perspective but from a narrative perspective to, great comparison is in Resident evil 2 Mr. X the only time in the entire game that the game narratively has a character confident that they can beat or at least stand their ground against Mr. X is the final fight with him in Leons scenario, every other time whenever Leon or claire encounter him in a scripted event, either claire starts shouting to sherry to run, or Leon shouts "YOU AGAIN" and in cutscenes that Mr. X appears in Leons scenario he witnesses Mr. X crash through the wall crushing Bens head with a single hand, or Mr. X crashing through the wall and almost crushing his head with a single hand, only to be saved by Ada using a truck filled with explosives, and even then the camera lingers on the truck and rubble Mr. X is buried under a common film technique to denounce "Yeah he aint dead" Nemesis on the other hand gets duped and avoided by jill right off the bat in her apartment, she manages to ram him with a car and carlos blows him up, your first gameplay interaction with Nemesis coming out of the bug nest has an electric generator right nearby that you can use to shock him, this sets a mindset that the game will provide you with clear tools to let you know you can fight him. And throughout the game Jill makes remarks throughout the game never has a trace of fear towards the nemesis except at most annoyance and alarm that Nemesis keeps coming back, barely ever displays Despair or fear (as oppossed to IMO the two most iconic scenes from the orginal version of RE3, the first is when Nemesis killed Brad, at first Jill approaches to help Brad when suddenly Nemesis drops down between her causing her to almost fall back in suprise and fear, Brad tries to run away but gets cornered when he gets can't open the gate and then screams for Jill to help who is unable to stop Nemesis from picked up Brad and sending a Tentacle through his skull, Jill can't watch his death looks away and only turns back when she hears Nemesis throws his body between them almost taunting her, she unable to fully register what happened to Brad calls out to Brad in shock. Then you have the clocktower scene where Jill finally gets in contact with a helicopter and manages to call it in for a rescue, she waves it down and is smiling, the music is serene and she is running towards it saying "its finally over" then suddenly the music picks up and you see a rocket launcher leveled and it fires Jill sees it and even in PS1 FMV you can see Jills expression of hope twist into utter despair and shouts the helicopter explodes and you see a shot of Nemesis on a rooftop with his rocket launcher looking down at you As opposed to Mr. X where you are given no tools to fight him, your first encounter against him is a cramped corridor which when he starts approaching you quickly people natrually register him as a threat that you can't beat in the current situation and they run, and then the game NEVER gives you an indication that "Hey this could be a good area to fight him" so everyone just resorts to the tactic that got engraved into their mind in their first encounter RUN AWAY

In a game where you have to shoot everything in the HEAD, he says that it’s boring. We’re on the same page when it comes to the rating, the game is honestly not bad but could’ve been a lot better but his reasoning for things he complained about are ridiculous.

The original Resident Evil 3 is my fave of the series and I wanted this to be better. In regards to Nemesis not appearing as much as we'd like, I definitely think that's a byproduct of having Carlos go to the RPD instead of Jill (as Nemesis would have followed her there) and the cutting of the clock tower map. Just keeping those in would have added at least 2 more opportunities to have utilised Nemesis encounters in a meaningful way.

I really like the gunplay, the dodging, the atmosphere, the soundtrack and fighting and evading Nemesis is pretty fun. The pacing and level design imo is decent enough. Not REmake 2 amazing, but still good. That said, Nemesis really should've been more of a threat constantly looming over you. Not scripted events. There shouldn't be cut content, like the lack of a park, a cemetery, the giant worm, and a god damn lack of mercenaries mode, and the game is too short as a result of the cut content. But I still liked it. But I do feel Capcom should've done better, and fans deserved better.

I didn't enjoy RE2make as much as the original RE2, to the point where I still haven't even done the 2nd run because the first run felt abit like a slog, also the way the dynamic difficulty has been done in both these remakes really hurts them I feel. You as the player shouldn't be punished for trying to save ammo and playing well, you shouldn't have to take afew zombie bites to make start doing criticals on zombies easier. So while I was looking forward to RE3make, I kept my expectations pretty low and I've been pleasantly surprised with RE3make so far. Loving it alot more than RE2make, that could be because I've always like Jill more but people forget that RE3 was always different in tone compared to RE2. Its alot more action heavy and more linear and these "remakes" mirror those aspects of their originals almost to a tee. I still prefer the original games but these games aren't terrible by any means. I do think alot of the revisionist history about the original RE3 by many people at the moment is bullshit though, people forgetting that Nemesis was always scripted in the original and he is here, complaining about the length when most RE games are typically designed to be beaten in afew hours for the unlockable rewards, even RE3make has a trophy for beating it in under 2 and a half hours. You had to do crazy times in RE2make for some of the S ranks and unlockables and no-one complained there, so why is RE3make different in that regard? Because its more linear? Thats just how OG RE3 was and I can guarentee alot of the OG fans would've moaned if that aspect was changed. Not everything needs to be 12-15 hours long to be enjoyable.
