My guess is the challenge of getting a kill on every enemy hero is a big reason why it isn't picked. The range is really nice, but I would assume at minimum getting a kill on the offlaner is super difficult
@drlibro26693 күн бұрын
Draft is where niche builds like these thrive. I imagine if you see a murky or probius on the offlane, this becomes immediately more doable.
@jamesfowell62033 күн бұрын
Agreed, I used to run it a lot but it can get demoralising when you just can't get that last one, especially if it's Abathur
@CliffSturgeon3 күн бұрын
Abathur on the enemy team (which happens often kn QM) can simply choose to not allow you to have a level 1 talent.
@confusedashell0203 күн бұрын
should be an either or style of quest. Get them all or kill 7~ heroes
@gharn25943 күн бұрын
Yes this is definitely the reason. There are a whole bunch of situations where getting a kill on every enemy hero can be just a nightmare. Which means people play with this talent, never complete it, realise it's a trap and never pick it again.

I'm so excited for the deep dive video, Zul'Jin was one of my favorite characters to play
@RealShadowsMan3 күн бұрын
I'm honestly shocked that this game is getting (what feels like to me) increasingly more passionate updates as time goes on. I'm really happy to see they didn't leave this hidden gem to be trashed. Also yeah, Zul'jin main here too- Always prefer the extra range. This PTR feels like Zul'jin will be stronger in his early game to make up for the climb for quest completion.

No idea why this has a low pick rate; this is literally my primary Dingo build with the sole exception that I love to take Ensnare, and I'll usually go guillotine for my ult. Lock a target down for a couple seconds and... ahem, "axe them a few important questions"... What Dehaka is there not to love?!
@CliffSturgeon3 күн бұрын
@@TheMadSentinel It's strictly because there's a very specific reason not to pick it: hard to kill enemies like aba

@adamszabo68372 күн бұрын
Yes, its super fun build when you have a 5-man premade; when you are alone in quick match, its absolutely not guaranteed to get the stacks for the quest and its better to have the 150 stacks faster, as it is more secure.

I play this build (it's my preferred way to play Zul'Jin). The only issue with it is if they pick someone impossible to kill like Abathur. If I see the enemy has a slug, I abandon all hope of picking headhunter
@SenorFatMan3 күн бұрын
I want to see the armor piercing build where you go red build. I like it because you just split the first objective and if no one answers you then you just take a building. It's a unique play style because it is more hitting the marks to do way too much damage.
@navandozerКүн бұрын
Back when I still played I always went AA build for Zuljin because it was the most fun for me. Only times I didn't are if there's an Aba. Vikings I still did it because it's so rare to see good Vikings anyways that killing all 3 usually happened.

Bounce is basically a 50% damage increase as long as you have 2 targets in range. I also don't understand why it's not picked more often.
@eewweeppkk2 күн бұрын
Because its not always on, and when it is on that damage is going out randomly, not necessarily where you want it to go. Constantly auto attacking is like a 500% damage increase but you simply can't auto attack constantly and don't always want to be hitting what's in range.

it's an all or nothing talent and that means it's risky. I love it though. so long as there isn't an Abathur on the enemy team I tend to prefer it. passive 10% damage without all the hp management and range to boot? It's just nice. Also, look at your level 4 talents. (Since you basically don't use amani rage anyway.) see which talent will benefit you more. You more than anyone should know that "the popular build" isn't always the best or most fun or universally the "right" answer. Both lvl 4 talents provide better sustain, which fits you playstyle better I think. Edit: The main reason recklessness is taken isn't for the damage; it's for the extra stacking power. So, if you can CONSISTENTLY stay lower than 50% and attack it's worth. otherwise I think either of the other two are better. I would say the same of the level 7 talent, Ferocity. It's only good in that under 50% mark. and even then it's really just the Tazdingo 1 hp moments that it shines. The only trap talents are the level 13 axe talent. (the slow isn't really significant compared to the on demand root or the movement speed of the other two.) ...and "let the killing begin" at 16. (it's not a true trap it is just more situational than people think. It's great if you are fighting in lane. but team fights around big objectives like cursed hollow or battlefield of eternity it doesn't scale well.) I generally prefer either of the other two talents at those levels. all his 20's are good. Generally, berserker build = taz. q build = e talent (forest medicine). I agree this build uses the range bounce (A surprise for ya). and spinning axe build can use any of them but buzzsaw is probably the weakest. Edit again: I should also say don't ignore the Q playstyle. It really shines against high armor targets and is less hp dependent. I tend to like it if I'm fighting either a very bursty team (cause safer) or there's a dw or cho'gall.
@tunafarrell20673 күн бұрын
I'm guessing that the reason this isn't picked as much is the level 1 talent can be a pain to complete. I do generally play a build similar to this and if it you can get the level 1 quest done and get the stacks this build can be an auto attack monster; but if you can't then it's sort of meh.

I sincerely hope the B-team queues with multiple tanks when you play the Q-build, so you can demonstrate the value of that 16 talent :D If not, AA speed seems good with it too
@phenixslayer213 күн бұрын
you learned how to play zuljin across the three videos you showed. If you played like this video in your first match, you would see why recklessness is picked most. The stacks you get from auto attacking outweigh anything you pick for talents. That is probably why they are changing zul.
@JonathanLovett-cf6vc2 күн бұрын
The full auto attack build with cleave and att. speed has been my favorite for almost a decade. idk why more people don't run it except HH is scary if you can't complete it in QM team comps. Even w/o the 2.2 range though surpise for ya really does turn team fights around over objs. like that. Then you don't need the Taz healing b/c the friendly team is the only one alive.

People don't take the lvl 1 because Dingo takes a long time to scale as is and in an unorganized team and higher ranks it's difficult to get all 5 of the kills. However, if you can get the kills Dingo becomes a monster.

Paly people have said in comments before but please, with Twin Cleave, don't put your cursor on the target. Aim to have one of the arcs over your intended path. Most times, the other axe will still cleave on top. But unless you are going Twin Cleave build specifically there's no reason to try for both blades. Try for one, and more times than not you'll get both.
