The year 1 characters are getting a main story expansion in autumn that involves all of them. And it'll be free. Way cooler than just getting little character episodes, in my opinion.

Why would he be friends with a guy who killed his father figure? The writers really messed that plot point up. Forgiveness and being a better man is fine, but not becoming BFFs with the guy. Marduk hasn't changed his ways either, still acts like a jerk ass.

She does traditional Shotokan Karate. The character design takes cues from Siri (TW3), the first model looked too anime for T8 style, that's striving to get away from it. IMO, they also took inspiration from Dorota Banaszczyk, a female world champion in Karate from Poland, there is some resemblance. The beach stage might be set in Okinawa. She seems to be on a quest to try out different Japanese dishes in one of her win animations, taking notes on Polish over a catalog of Japanese food. Okinawa is also the birthplace of her Karate style. It's a neat character that never got any story attention yet, we will see when the story expansion drops.

But if you want to get more weirder then we could put Ichiban Kasuga and have him play like Negan with some of Ichiban's ridiculous moves and poundmate summons just like what he does in the games. Yes I know all of those ridiculous battle moments are all in Ichiban's head but this is Tekken where the games get ridiculous so Ichiban and his schizophrenia fits so well in T8.

I still find it shocking that people are saying that tekken 8 is an "always my turn" game. It might come off as that at face value, but I found the depth in the game is reading the opponent and using crushes, side steps, counters or knowing when to block to steal turns back. And unlike tekken 7, you're not afforded the luxury of defending forever until your brain fires correctly.

I missed out on 7. I played a long time ago. Last time, 6 on PSP, for reference. 😅 Soon as I saw her reveal video a few moments ago, I want to play! I want to play bad. I love her style. So to make up for her lack of launchers I’d recommend just getting combos from her 3,2 since it leaves your opponent in a crumble state. Honestly in regard to damage 60% from multiple combos adds up so you don’t really need to take your opponent’s health bar in one go just do a couple good 60% damage combos you’ll be fine.

"She looks like a VF character" She basically has the same moveset as Hitomi from Dead or Alive, just with less weight. She's based on real life actual Shotokan Karate, whereas Jin used Kyokoshin Karate in Tekken 7. Also, her Tekken 7 outfit (Half Gi) compared to Tekken 8 (Full Gi) might be a hint that it used to be a test character for T8 and is now a fully fleshed out character. I also disagree with DoA having an issue with same faces, starting with 5 the series did a great job at giving every character a different face. Concering Eddy, he was doing exceptionelly well during Tekken Wolrd Tour 2024 today.

Nope, her style is pure Shotokan Karatedo. Her motion capture have been made by Tatsuya Naka, a Japan Karate Association Sensei. 😉 There is a video about that on the Kuro Obi World YT channel and they mentionned him during the special Lidia Tekken talk as well.

@@Kawaiistarzone When Jin was created, he was a mix of both fictionnal styles (Mishima by his father and Kazama by his mother). Mishima style have a lot of traditional Karate moves and Jin have also some self-defense moves (Ryu Goshin Justu) and Kazama would be more comparable some to Aïkido. In T4, they added some Kyokushin moves that you can also see in Shotokan Karate. He's pretty complex to define because in T8, he also have some "devil" moves that are more anime/fantasy based on a devil power that obviousely don't refer to a specific martial art. So I like Jin, but as a 2nd dan Shotokan Karateka myself my preference goes naturally to Lidia that have a very pure (Shotokan) style comparing Jin. They had her some new spectacular kicks in T8 that may be less common for Shotokan but most of technics/stances are also very accurate. All the parries she has are very specific and realistic. For example, her DB 3+4 is called a gedan barai that parries kicks and low technics and her B 1+3 is a Age Uke to parry "jodan" (high moves) like in real life 😉. I was totally amazed at her T7 reveal when I saw her first moves on the beach. I instantly recognized the Kankudai Shotokan kata and knew already that this chatacter was made for me ! 😉

Lot of thoughts going around about Lidia’s new face, but personally I don’t pay that much attention to the models. I just prefer the new design cuz her gi is fully on now and it looks great.

Personally, it's not the face. It's the skintone and hair color. Both should be a paler contrast. In t8 her blonde hair is yellowish, in t7 it's more platinum. In t8 her skin is more yellowed, and in t7 it's pale. Fix those things and she'll look a lot more unique without at all adjusting facial features.

You can say what you want about the face designs of Tekken 7,but at least they weren't afraid to make Lidia look like a battle scarred badass who's been through some stuff. Now she looks more like Nina than Nina does. I still love her new gi though.
