[Synth/Ambient/Electronic/Orchestration/OST/Score] Yes, you've read the title right; Here is the lost/unreleased Sail Barge music from Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi .... RESTORED! .... REMASTERED!! ... AND EXTENDED!!! It is played by the Jabba's Palace Ortolan Max Rebo and his band (Sy Snootles / Droopy McCool) on Jabba The Hutt 's sail barge (The Khetanna) as he transports Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian to the Great Pit of Carkoon aka the Sarlacc Pit. This song is heavily sought after by a large margin of the Star Wars fan base as it was sadly never included on any soundtrack or album. The only max rebo tracks that are released to the public are "Jedi Rocks", "Jabba's Baroque Recital", and "Lapti Nek" (but the film version of Lapti Nek is unreleased). A lot of people assume that "Galactic Dance Blast" is done by legendary composer John Williams but I read somewhere that the song was actually done by Joseph Williams (John Williams 's son). Also, the master tape of this song is unfortunately lost due to the makers of 'Jedi' loaning this music to a company who used it in a making of documentary titled: "From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga" and they ended up 'misplacing' the original recording which means that this video will probably always be the CLOSEST thing you will get to the authentic high quality master tape of the song (its pretty much 98% accurate). I also doubt Lucasfilm , Disney, and or John Williams has them either because usually when you make a master tape its one copy and that's it. Return of the Jedi (also known as Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi) is a 1983 American epic space opera film directed by Richard Marquand. It is the third installment in the original Star Wars trilogy and the first film to use THX technology. The film is set one year after "The Empire Strikes Back" and was produced by Howard Kazanjian for Lucasfilm Ltd. The film stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew and Frank Oz. The film was released in theaters on May 25, 1983, six years to the day after the release of the first film, receiving mostly positive reviews. The film grossed between $475 million and $572 million worldwide. Several home video and theatrical releases and revisions to the film followed over the next 20 years. I was more a pre-Lucas Lapti Nek kind of guy. It (together with just up and killing Oola while everyone is a dark and seedy criminal) was an awesome scene that felt less at home in Star Wars and more at home in a Missing In Action or Rambo installment. Like a smoky Chiang Mai strip club vibe. You also get that from this music, too. Too bad George Lucas had to end up going up his own ass with stupidity after he became drunk with power and wrecked his own creation.

unfortunately they cant. this is a remastered, pretty much reconstructed version of this song, using only bits from the films. the ACTUAL SONG AND RECORDING are literally lost in some archive somewhere. we will never hear it in its full glory, ever. unless some grand quest is undertaken to locate it, assuming it still exists.

@@ftv2376 That would be wonderful. As a collector of music from soundtracks, since the late seventies, it's been my experience that lots of things that were lost turn up in some form. Sometimes someone in the music department had made copies of it, sometimes the unmixed elements survive on separate tapes, sometimes it was stored incorrectly... All sorts of things have shown up and put on CD for fans. I will certainly not be surprised if it doesn't just show up at some point. In fact, I'll be more surprised if it doesn't.
