the funny part is IT IS. Its not what most people want to see or want to paly, i sure as hell dont want it in the game. But from a meta perspective it achives the ideal of your opponent doesnt have a chance to win

@zambles, this is even more true now with dark ruler no more/forbidden droplets, kaijus, lava golemns, sphere modes, in the game, why make a board of negates that lose to the above counters when u can just FTK the opponent

Also saves space in the side deck so u dont need to waste side deck space on cards to counter drnm/droplets like anti spell/imperial order/solemn judgment and u dont have to pray u hard draw these trap cards

I feel like all of these FTK decks aren't the fault of the Archetypes being used as an engine. it all seems to fall under Firewall Dragon not being a hard once per turn and Cannon Soldier dodging a ban.

How long is it gonna take for them to realize they need to ban FTK’s overall? I don’t care about OTK’s because OTK’s have been around since the inception of Yu-gi-oh. Plus a good player constructs their deck to take OTK’s into account. I do care about FTK’s because that just makes the game boring.

I'm still bothered by this idea that pendulum ftk was played by everyone that format. It was a dumb deck that should've existed, but I still think normal pendulums were more successful at the top levels.

Pendulum FTK and normal Pendulums were mostly the same thing; the FTK engine was so small that you could splash it into normal Pendulums without compromising consistency.

Then people would just use Shadow Priestess of Ohm, or toon cannon soldier, or cannon soldier Mk.II, or amazoness archer. There are tons of cards that are only a problem once firewall is in the mix.

SqueezeBakon that is what i thinked, as someone who once played burn decks with amazoness archer (she is even more dangerous than Cannon Soldier), the problem is not the shooter, like she, Cannon Soldier, catapult turtle, chain strike, mass driver, etc., The problem is the card that gives food to the fire like firewall dragon.

probably because even though it's seen as a degenerate strategy to us, it's still being seen as a strategy. Most FTK's are somewhat difficult to pull off, requiring certain specific cards in a full 40-60 card deck. In that regard, it's somewhat fascinating to see when those few magic cards are combined into a deck and it just works.

You have to hit more cards than just Cannon Soldier, actually. Shadowpriestess of Ohm is another burn card. There's even the Toon Cannon Soldier, the Cannon Soldier Mk2, and Amazoness Archer. All of which have the potential to be abused, and there can be even more I've missed. So when you call for Cannon Soldier's ban, you gotta mention these cards as well.

Because to do something like ban inflicting effect damage turn one wouldn’t solve any problems. Suddenly ancient gears can’t summon hound turn 1 severely hurting the decks ONLY gong first play. Any card with random burn effects won’t be playable going first. FTK decks need to be addressed, IE firewall dragon, cannon soldier, lyrilusc independent nightingale banned, but banning the concept of FTKs or banning effect damage turn one leads to ruling nightmares. What happens if you set an FTK trap combo and activate them in the opponent’s standby phase?
