During the pandemic, I developed a panic disorder. Before the meds and therapy did their job, some days Richter's music was about the only thing keeping me going.

Hands down my biggest inspiration as a composer; everything Max writes is just so rich with texture and emotion. Also one of the only artists I can listen to regardless of my mood or what I'm doing, and I think that is the mark of truly great music.
@rickhopkinson4 жыл бұрын
I couldn't have put it better than what you've just said! Since I found Max's music from a friend's recommendation back in 2013, he is also firmly my favourite composer and main source of inspiration for my own music...

It makes me sad because he almost never plays selections from that work. He needs a 5 piece ensemble at minimum which may be why, but still. That is hands down my favorite album and the one I hear him play the least.

Camera to his back and at his hands from the left gives me the sense of the space we are in, through refection, whereas the camera to his right picks up the outside space while muting him to a back lit silhouette. The playful back-and-forth between the inside space and outside, with the reflection focused around his hands makes me feel like this music lives as a semi-permeable membrane between two beautiful worlds.

That's true, this music is sometimes exactly what you need to find inner peace And minimalistic music with slightly more complex harmony is fine too, I could recommend Canto Ostinato by Simeon ten Holt, it's a very long and quite impressive piece
