@@900108Chale He didn't miss his braking point, he accidentally turned on the "brake magic" which makes the brake balance so heavily slanted to the front that it's an automatic lock-up under racing conditions. It's used to get temperature into the tyres on warm-up laps but he fat-fingered it while upshifting in the start.

Most of them have their great and weak starts. Verstappen has made some insane starts this year (Imola being one of the craziest starts I've ever seen from someone in 10+ season of watching F1), Hamilton is very consistent with it, and there's some more to name (including the ones you did). He had a great start and got ahead, while Checo struggled off the line. He saw a chance and so he took it. Going for the overtake was a safe call and he probably would have won if he didn't mess his brake balance up. And actually, braking behind Checo and locking up would cause a crash and a massive pile up, so Checo got lucky there, could have been race over for him if he was faster off the line.

He was in a reasonable place to try for the move, and he even braked at the right time. When he turned off the system that they use to heat up the brakes during safety cars/red flags, he accidentally turned it back on. That's why his brakes were smoking while he was sitting still. He just had no brakes, then straight into a lockup.

the leclerc/gasly battle is one of the greatest things i've ever seen. charles pretty much fully overtook him at least once but because gasly had the better line was able to take advantage of those lines to hold his position. amazing driving by both!

Gasly at 1:39 is such a beast, love how he maintains the inside line for so long, especially that main monstrous straight and that badass move to get a tiny bit of tow from Charles, fckng crazy at those speeds lol also around 9:00 there is Gasly not even considering lifting as he approaches the smoke of Stroll's main straight crash, Gasly must have the biggest kahoonas hahahaha that's literally insane
