I know this video is old, and it is helpful, but I would recommend using unyielding armour, as you get +3 to all specials when below a certain health, meaning a full set will net you 15 instead of 5.

mining hats are a nice touch. i try to keep a theme in each settlement, usually with each assignment. like say scavengers all wear harnesses, farmers have raider leathers, guards have road leathers, whatever. that way when an unassigned walks by i know, and i dont have to check workshop to know what they are assigned to. i even assign them to beds to all the farmers are together etc

Yup, I'm the same way. Only, I don't dress them per job. More like per settlement. I have over 30 settlers at the Finch Farm all dressed in Baseball Uniforms, and Red Rocket Settlers are all dressed in Vault 81 suits. It took me awhile but I have 100% guys at one settlement and they're all wearing dresses and fashionable glasses,, lmao. it's hilarious just to go there and see them. I have other set ups at other settlements but more basic such as all hot females in one, all road leathers in another, etc. Can't you see I ran out of things to do? hahaha

Coming to the PS4 game late (started playing in 2021), I've found you can increase the population of a settlement even further after this. After completing Prep School, you can set up trade routes between settlements. It's a bit fiddly, but try this. Start recruiting settlers at a settlement NEAR, for example, Sanctuary. You want a trade route with not much NPC travel time. From that population, create a provisioner and set the route TO Sanctuary (or wherever you want to increase your population). It's important to make the settler distinctive looking, as you have to easily recognise them when you next see them. You will need to hang around in Sanctuary or make frequent trips, but eventually you will be in town at the same time as the provisioner you created. When you see them, go into workshop and allocate them a new job. It will seem like they ignore your instruction, but after a few days in-game, when you're out there playing the game, you will see a resource allocated message pop up on screen. When you go back to Sanctuary, the trade route is gone and the provisioner is now a settler in Sanctuary (or wherever you're boosting your population). You can do this with multiple settlement to settlement trade routes, or repeat the process, but gradually your population WILL creep up to your target.

to gain more charisma: -green shirt and combat boots (+1, i guess you use a modded merc belt instead :) -party boy perk (doubles the effects of alcohol) -x-cell (all stats + 2) Far harbor dlc items: -the dappert gent (hat sold by pearl in vault 118, +2 chr) -unyielding armor parts (when health under 25% +3 on all stats) I need to test another way to raise the base charimsma beyond 10: suffering from addiction + daddy-O will lower your charisma under 10, so in theory you can put more points in to it... power armor might support this effect.

just tested: withdrawal symptoms don't allow to raise your charisma beyond 10 :( power armor has no influence other then blocking the special effects of your clothing. but I come over some funny thing: when a provisioner/ supply line is down the settler count goes down by 1 allowing to send another settler to a maxed out settlement. When the provisioner recovers the counter will be updated. But with the settlers from the rogue robot mission this all becomes nerdy :)

It is possible to get 42 settlers with a base Charisma of 10, reading a S.P.E.C.I.A.L. book after alcohol addiction, the Charisma bobblehead, wearing Summer shorts, 4x 'Sharp' (Legendary) armor pieces (left/right arm/leg), as well as a Charisma-boosting hat and glasses, and consuming Grape Mentats, beer with the Party Boy/Girl level 2 perk, Day Tripper and X-cell. It's important to note that you have to do this in order because if you get Party Boy/Girl level 1 you can't get drunk, thus you cant start this chain.

Max settlers in vanilla without cheats: 56 5 pieces of unyielding armor (3*5=15), hat +2 ( dapper gent from far harbor), +1 glasses => +18 from armor many choices of alcoholic drinks give +1 cha, with "party boy" level 2 alcoholic effects are doubled +2 => +2 from alcohol 10 normal max of cha 10, if you temporarily lower your cha eg with daddy-O , then you can use the special book and the bobble had figurine to get 12 max cha from special stats => 12 from special stats +1 from barbers chair => 1 from vault add on daytripper +3, grape mentats +5, x-cell +2, smooth opperator +3 those are the drugs you can take to temporarily increas cha for quite a SHORT span of time => +13 from drugs +10 for settlement max inbuilt in game => +10 this summs to up to:+18 (armor) +2(alc) +12(stats) +1 (vault) +13 (drugs) +10 (settlement) = 56 total I have not tested out if smooth operator (from nukaworld recepie) and grape mentats go together. But they should as all the drugs are stackable. As the drugs only raise the cha for a short period of time you can pump up only a limited number of settlements. Daytripper and x-cell are hard to find as random loot in chemboxes and bodies. I have the feeling that gouhls drop daytripper from time to time. And there are a view locations where those 2 are placed one-time fixed until picked up. So you play with your charisma armor on for some time. All your normal settlements get between 25 and 40 settlers (depending on how much of the cha armor you already have). Then you go to an unimportant settlement, gulp alc and drugs and transfer the settlers from there to the capitals where you want to have maximum settlers. And then you are free to do Rouge Robot to further increase population. Of course this is a very special set up (with the special book and bobblehead only taken after you have 10 cha with daddy-o) for a playthrogh where the main aim is to resettle the commonwealth and bring food and clean water to as many people as possible.

No , the Cha is only needed to check if more settlers can move into a settlement for 1.) daily settlement growth chance 2.) check if you can send a settler from you current settlement into another settlement. for method 1 it is good to wear armor with a loot of cha for method 2 you wear your armor and boost your charisma with drugs and alcohol for sending a lot of settlers from unimportant settlements to your capital settlements as the drugs wear off quickly. Settlers will not move out once you happen to have less charisma. EG you can let your settlements grow and then when they have reached their goal you can start to wear different gear.

dont know if anyone have said it yet, but, you can have base 11 charisma.. not 10... you just need 10 charisma, and THEN pick up the bobblehead after.. 2 more points can be modded with the mod that lets you put armor over any underclothing.. like the red dress... lastly doesn't the wedding ring give 1 charisma aswell?.. (dont know if thats a mod i have or vanilla.)

Oxhorn, Summer shorts will add 2 charisma but only have the arm and leg slots able to be armored but with the summer shorts and 4 pieces of sharp armor it will give 1 more charisma point that just a full set of sharp armor with regular underclothes.

Serious question Oxhorn. Why do you have 36 settlers when the efficient settlement is 24 settlers? Is it just preference, noncaring about happiness, or does it serve a better purpose in settlement management & building? Even with the 24 settlers, I run into not having a job for the last settler unless I build another shop or one of the vault-tec happiness builds( typically the soda fountain)

You can always give your settlers the job of scavenging for resources which builds in your workshop. I have at least five at every settlement that way I don’t have to carry as much junk when I’m on a mission and see something rare like adhesive, copper, and oil that I’d rather pick up than steel and wood.

acutally its more than 40 i believe, maybe even infinite xD, if you want to tho, just send settlers from Settlement A to Settlement B (using the supply run thing) Travel to settlement B, wait for the settler to arrive and then assign the settler to (for example) Food, or defense (this is in Settlement B) Settlement A got one less, but if you have a beacon, that one you sent away will just be replaced. This is how I did it, tho years ago, maybe it doesnt work anymore, haven't used it much since i bought all dlc's You now got an extra settler in your settlement!

set your defense to 2x the level of your food and water sum, it'll make whatever settlement is struggling practically untouchable [make sure most of the defense is mounted turrets] and get the mod B.S. defense

If you Recruited 36 then yes, they will stay, however i have a bug in my game, so i actually have to Manually recruit and send them to my settlements, because if they show up via the Beacon then they dont stay when im over my limit. I use outpost Zuniga for my recruiting, because that place just sucks, so i never build a settlement there. Its a bit of a pain, but i havent had any problems with disappearing settlers. Just have issues with them not doing their fuckin jobs, and wandering around the settlement where i dont Want them.

That's a Bethesda glitch. When you first equip settlers with mining helmets, the game places the light at their feet. You have to fast travel and fast travel back to fix it.

Happened due to leaving the recruitment beacon on at Warwick homestead and had like 40 settlers during my quest run with only 10 beds so had to move them to the castle which already had 39

You know I just downloaded a mod that gave me rings with +50 charisma, then used Freemaker to craft a bunch of charisma-boosting chems, then I just moved settlers around. It took maybe 20 minutes of work to get so many settlers on Spectacle Island/The Castle I had to turn a lot of them away to keep the game from crashing. As of now my Spectacle Island has 61 settlers, and that's only due to stability issues. (I'm on a PSPro.) (Also my settlers think they're mongooses and hide under the houses I built for them.)

You can debuff it with daddy-o before getting the bobblehead which will get u to 11 when the debuff wears off. Thats what I did. Then use the Agatha's dress or Lorenzo's suit with +3 or the Sharp armor if you can find a full suit for +5, the black rim glasses +1, the trilby or militia hat +1, & all the buffing drugs +11 (he missed X-cell but thats rare). So the final Charisma lvl would be 11+7+11=29+10 original settlers=39 total settlers. Edit: if you have party boy/girl 2 then double the chem effects & you can add the SPECIAL book to charisma as well if u hold onto it till your lvl 10 (before getting party perk otherwise cant debuff) for another point.
