Not only that, Max has stated, on many occasions, that family is most important of all. Which is why he's not likely to drive in F1 beyond 2028, unless he's still winning at the current rate. He might even retire from F1 earlier.

I think that, unless you're Dutch, it's hard to pick up on the nuances of Jos' parenting as told in the documentary 'Whatever it Takes'. Verstappen's story of having a strict father as a coach is not unique, Agassi and the Williams sisters had strict parents as well. Or Tiger Woods. Jos might very well have been a very loving, softer person outside of karting.

This is full of wrong information and assumptions. 1: training 3 times a week is not that much. Look how much young children training in turning, biking, and so on to get to the top… 2: Jos dropped max at the gas station knowing that his ex wife was 15 min behind (not hours), he just inform her. It is rude but sometimes these are the things that help to raise a child. Ask dead’s of “normal” child’s they all did something the same ones. If it was a real big issue the Dutch youth services should kicked in, that’s for sure! If this really was a big deal they both don’t talk open about this. 3: max had years in f1 not winning due to the dominance of Mercedes. He just accept the situation and works hard to get in to the position he is in now. 4: inform yourself and you know he has multiple friends from his childhood he stil spares time with. He was not keep away from a normal youth at al. Yes a child good in sports sacrifice time for it but he was not forced. 5: yes he can be fanatic if something happens on track with other drivers. But the majority of the grid does the same. Beside that he has a good relation with a big part of the grid. If it was a thing he don’t had friends in racing… Please base a video on facts and information from all people involved instead of just barking you’re own opinion in a way you bring it as facts…

Good video ! Provides better understanding of the man and racer Max Verstappen. Some remarks: Jos is pronounced as Yoss (like boss), not Yoesh. Checko spun on purpose in that Monaco quali, ruining Max's fast lap (which would have gotten him P1). I think the realationship between Jos and Max is better than how you portrey it. But life was not all joy for Max at that age. But who's is? It all payed off big time though. Hopefully he won't end up as a jealous diva like Hammertoe.

Not sensationalistic at all besides the title. The only suggestion I'd have is to use different music (I think the dupstep/electronic whatever part makes the video seem a bit cheap, which it isnt. Max father Jos and his father Fran were charged with assault after fracturing a man’s skull. They had a 3 year suspended sentence after making an out of court settlement. Max’s parents divorced and Max went with his father and his sister his mother. Jos has thrown Max out of the car and made to walk home because he didn’t do well at the karting. Max’s mother came along the same road and picked him up. Max doesn’t treat his girlfriends daughter Penny who is Daniil Kvyat like this. It’s simple to see where Max sometimes gets his anger from and has learned to channel this into racing. The grandfather and his father are of a different generation where we did get are butts kicked and women not treated so well. But things have improved and hopefully max will be different from his father. All the kudos that Max maintains a good relationship with his father, speaks well of him, and does want sympathy or to break his relationship with his father talking negatively about him publicly. Max has achieved what his father never did. He is his own man, has his cats and caring for someone else’s child. He is very mature and responsible, still only being 25, nearly 26. He has overcome the adversity he did suffer and a credit to himself. He has a good sense of humour and it is dreadful all the bashing people and Lewis want to give him because of his success. Max has kept it all together and Lewis has made Max get into his own head, Max is doing his job brilliantly and a success. 🏎️

I don't think Max views "winning" as a "problem". I think every top driver (include Hamilton - when he won so many championships) intimidates other drivers. I am Dutch and a Verstappen fan but I whould love to see someone in a equal/better car then him and then having them fight it out. The Hamilton Verstappen battle in 2021 was Legendairy and I hope we can some time soon see something again in the next few years. I cant see it being his teammate so I really hope some team stepps up their game and challenges Red Bull. I also think now that Verstappen is so Dominant right now but if he falls off and has a shit season with a shit car and gets beaten I can also see him leave right after because there is no hope. Is this Fox? Creating a completely false narrative from some half truths is evil. If anything, Max wanted to reach F1 himself. It was his own motivation. But his father, as his trainer, only asked of Max to do everything necessary to reach that goal. In return he gave up his racing career and invest the time and money necessary. Jos is a very straightforward, no-BS kind of guy and can be rough around the edges in his communication. But as any parent, he also had to deal with an adolescent who sometimes wanted to cut corners or just wanted a day off. Every parent has had arguments with their children when they didn’t want to go to school, music or sport practice or whatever. That’s a part of life and part of teaching your children some responsibility. Max has always had the ability to quit racing. He didn’t want that. It was and is his own intrinsic motivation that enabled him to learn from his father and reach the absolute top in car racing. That doesn’t come without sacrifices from everyone involved; the athlete, the parent, the trainer, the sponsors. Everyone. If you would have looked and, especially, listened to news items and interviews of Max and Jos early in their road to succes, you can witness the love and respect they had and still have for each other. Many children can be jealous of such a relationship. Just recentlyMax was asked who, of anyone in the world, past and present, would be his favorite teammate. Guess who? JOS.

Untrue it’s more or a Stockholm syndrome forming a psychological connection and sympathising with them and not wanting to be a bus driver, trying to please his father. Nor does Max want to be a victim, he wants to be his own man. Jos will still be reminding Max he would have been nothing if it wasn’t for him and all that’s he’s given him. Parents like that don’t change and will justify everything. Max would have been great without things being having to be brutal. I’m sure Damon Hills father didn’t do that and many people have taken after their fathers skills. Max was surrounded by Daniel Ricciardo and his constant smile and joking around.
