Correction, the Mercedes was not the stronger car for the majority of the season. I'm not a fan boy as some of u childish waste of skins like to blurt out every where, just stating facts. Mercedes had to battle with new regs changes that affected their car as well as worrying about engine wear. Yet still went into the final race level on points. Max is a fantastic driver, out of this world for sure, but don't try and act like this was his championship won fair and square

The whole season max was followed by bad luck and wrong decisions from the fia. But finally it the last race, in the last couple of laps, max verstappen had luck and handled to win the race and the title. Now all merc fans crying about this one decision, but don't look at the whole season and the luck merc had. But in the end it was a season to remember and if you really really think, this title was cheated, then you should never be allowed to watch a formula one race. I'm sorry but both DRIVER would have deserved the title. But this season the fia were on merc' side, so in my opinion max deserved the title a bit more. Just my opinion...

As far as I know only 33 other people in 70 years of F1 have managed to win one or more World Champion titles...statistically nowhere near Hamilton but to most drivers one Championship is all they feel they need to prove. I doubt Max can strike as much luck as to win 7 titles with his aggressive style but Im pretty sure the win record (105-110) is doable. Reminds me of the ending of the movie "Rush".. "for James one world title was enough, he had proved what he needed to prove to himself and anyone who doubted him"

Max's career in F1 didn't start in 2015 at Torro Rosso. It started before he was even born; in 1994 at Benneton with his father. @@jarasimonson4040 Yeah, as soon as Max began to cry and become emotional, I knew it was all over for me as well. He held it all in this entire season and stayed focused, to the point that haters would call him ‘cold’, uncaring…literally anything just to trip him up psychologically. Bernie Ecclestone even accused Lewis and Merc of bullying Max and quite honestly I agree. Merc had the better car, but Max was the better driver and RB was the better TEAM. Max stayed calm and controlled under that tremendous pressure and name calling and despite his roiling emotions, he channeled it all into a perfect focus and determination. To win despite the rocket ship Lewis had under him…Max tried so damn HARD. He fought like a LION. He IS a lion. This is my first season as a fan of Formula 1, in the US I grew up with NASCAR and Indy…I didn’t even know F1 was a THING until this year, and I threw myself into the sport. It wasn’t DTS either that did it…it was the KZbin algorithm. I was researching root causes of plane crashes (I’m a pilot and engineer) and the 1955 LeMans crash came up and I thought, ‘I don’t remember this plane crash…’ and I clicked on it and the rest was history! I went to the USGP and my mouth just dropped when the cars flew by me for the first time…the atmosphere was so electric, happy and wholesome. Max had BY FAR the highest number of fans (he and Checo). The US Lewis fans are usually Hollywood/California types (and that’s just embarrassing, please don’t look at Hollywood celebs and think that this is America Eeeeek). But regardless, everyone was really nice to each other; there was this family dressed in Mercedes colors with a Lewis sign and we were all freaking out at the last lap (the race went down to the final turn) and I comforted the young kid who was sad at Lewis losing by giving him my orange balloon…which he waved around proudly!! Tee he he hehehehehehe. 😎🤘

Kept an eye on him since he arrived in F1. Became a fan of his in 2016. I'll never forget his first win in Spain, defending against Kimi with almost dead tires. I still rewatch the 2016 Brazilian GP when I feel like it, because what he did in the rain was something otherworldly. To me, he made the show, he made the moves, he was agressive, he was a fighter. I consider myself to be in his generation (2 years younger), so what I saw on track from him was the same attitude, the same kind of teenager rebellious phase I'd been at the time (not saying that he was right every time, but I could easily identify with him). He turned my eyes to the younger generation, all the way down to F2 and F3 and thanks to him, I noticed Charles and Pierre, I noticed Lando and George and Alex, and I became a fan of all of them. But it all started with him. I watched him grow up, and I grew up with him. This year, even when all odds were against him - especially then - he showed me that you should never give up, you should always fight, and Fortuna eventually will be on your side. Today it happened, but he could only cling the victory because prior to that he never lost hope, not truly. Because he's still the fighter he was when he arrived in F1 and he will always be. The first of many has arrived today. The dam broke and now the game is truly on. Congrats to Max Verstappen, the F1 World Champion of 2021! Thank you for this season and I can't wait to watch you next year!

Anyone saying Lewis should have given the win, is basically saying “we like races to end behind the safety car, instead of battling it out”. That’s obviously what Merc hoped for, too. Can anyone explain how that is good for F1 or racing in general? By the way: getting rid of the backpackers is a standard procedure. PS no hater of any of the drivers.

It would have been the worst championship ending possible though. Rules are not clear enough, I agree... For that they should look at Nascar.

I can remember vividly our little day out in the cold Swiss countryside in February of 2017. Max, Daniel and their close group of engineers coming to BMC Switzerland for a teambuilding visit. As soon as we were on the mountain bikes, Max scampered off into the distance, leaving us to complete the trail climb in about twice the time. I knew he was going to be world champion then, and here we now are. Well done Red Bull, well done Max. You're all top lads and lasses.
