He was definitely making a statement in that race. You could tell Max was really frustrated before it even started. The way he drove, dropping those fastest laps one after another, was proof of that. He’s just too good-an absolute champion.

Unbelievable what this kid can do behind the wheel of an F1 car. There a huge skill-gap between him and the rest of the field. As a German and long time Schumacher fan it's undeniable. Verstappen is the GOAT, no question about it.

Facts. I remember Senna saying something about him being in a different dimension when he drives, I saw that in Max when he drove with his father in SPA. He was barely blinking. Same thing happened during his sim races. He also won a 24hr sim racing competition before an F1 gp and won that as well. He's crazy talented.

From a neutral perspective most ( if not all) of his overtakes were done in the braking .In the wet, if you have a car that you feel confident with braking much later than usual, it is no contest. I'm sorry but how many drivers did you see putting up a fight? I think Max's performance in some of his other races this year has been better purely on the basis of his racing overtakes and how hard he had to work for them.

@@TimDaOne Why do you think that is possible? Why do you think Checo was also able to brake as late? I think you guys forget how much the actual car is involved. Do you also acknowledge that driving in dirty air in the wet makes it very hard to follow. I don’t think Max was in dirty air when he was setting fastest lap after fastest lap? That’s not a coincidence lol. When a driver is comfortable with the car, as long as the car is doing its job, the sky is the limit. It’s a beautiful thing to see when it happens but let’s not pretend here. Max’s overtakes on other tracks this year have been more impressive.

One thing to note is the difference between the communication between the teams. The info provided by GP was provided with confidence and an absoluteness that the other teams just don't have. Example, the rain will last 4 laps vice we think the rain last 4 laps. IMHO that's the difference between a good team and a championship team. They gave Max the info he needed to make a confident split second decision vice giving Lando the we think stuff that inevitably leads to confusion and indecisiveness.
