@@sultanoftippoo3857 to be honest not really. the technology is great. they are getting rid of the coolest part of the modern f1 cars in 2026 anyways. the mguh. The cars are not as good looking as they used to be and they certainly do not sound good compared to anything before 2014. The drivers are sort of a version of the modern NBA where everyone is friendly. Its the kind of pussification of everything that modern society has basically enforced on everything. Max is definitely not into non of that crap and the watching him drive is very special. It takes me back to watching Jordan dominate in the Chicago bulls when i was a kid. A very refreshing attitude. I'm glad you linked to bbc R4 because thats where i LISTEN, yes listen to F1, its a different experience. A lot of the CultLH crew and it definitely is a cult at this point given the group think and crazy ideas they bounce off each other are a plague on the F1 community, they aren’t true F1 fans, they barely seem to even like motorsport abstractly. Lewis explicitly courted the kind of woke, drama addicted fanclubs that you normally reserve for the likes of pop stars. Early in his career he ditched his dad as his manager and got the same media management company that represented Beckam in the US and it’s all been downhill from there Have been a die hard Lewis fan back in the day but over time he lost that fiery racer attitude he came in with and when he started bringing twisted US divisive social agendas to the sport I explicitly ditched him- Max is the racer Lewis came in as 07/08 but he’s never lost that. I have utmost respect for the fact the max was one of the few drivers on the grid that refused to take a knee in 2020 and has always said politics should be kept out of sports and everyone has different opinions. Max is a man of steel and whilst I think Lewis is fundamentally a thoroughly decent chap (I suspect they all are on the grid) I just think he is very emotionally immature and not his own man the way Max is- lewis wanted to become a celebrity for the sake of and has been chasing that for over a decade now and all those freaks in that world have rubbed off on him

Schumacher was a monster in the rain, especially in the 90s. Two seconds a lap on the rest easily, 3 when it was really wet, 5s sometimes. Rain was more of an equalizer with those cars back then, but also there were a lot of drivers who simply couldn't handle the rain. These days the whole grid is capable in the wet. As always, I maintain … Max at his best is superior to all the other drivers when they are at their very best! Despite his commitment, dedication and his relentless pursuit for perfection as an F1 driver is unparalleled. And to make matters worse he is without question the driver with the most natural ability, raw talent, speed, aggression and the ability to intimidate drivers is reminiscent of only Senna and Schumi! Although Schumi, Lewis and Alonso (to a lesser extent cause he wasn’t that successful through this career) what Max has achieved in 9.5yrs in his career already supersedes Schumi and Lewis’ 17/18yr career already.
@PatrickFuchs-iv1qkКүн бұрын
I don't know, the circumstances for Schumi were different. And I think Max got highly influenced by Schumi in his youth, the Verstappens and Schumachers were good friends and drove cart together. In my eyes Michael had the same commitment, dedication and relentless pursuit for perfection, just different opportunities to get the job done. Schumacher could test drive, Max is racing in the simulator, Both worked together with the best engineers and a competent team around them. Both sometimes bend the rules to much in their greed to win. And both had success with it. They both drove multiple perfect races.
@zt2maxКүн бұрын
I appreciate you feel that way. Nobody is "wrong" or, "right" about such views to my mind, the only view I really have of the GOAT issue is that whoever he was, be is a Senna or a Max or a Lewis or a Schumer, and even Alonso/Prost, that whoever he was, he won't be head and shoulders above the other nominees. A true objective appraisal of this can be seen when two GOATS collide. Such examples come to mind. Brazil 1994, Schumacher versus Senna, BEFORE Senna span out. Schumacher seemed faster, and probably was on talent, but the sheer intensity and force of will of Senna, made him start to close the gap. The FW16 was a nightmare at that stage of the season so the spin out speaks more to that than any Senna mistake. My conclusion? Less than a paper with between those GOATS. Another example springs to mind, the 1988 season, in it's entirety. Senna and Prost, both with very different styles, taking wins off of each other, sometimes Prost blowing Senna away, sometimes Senna blowing Prost away. Less than a paper width between them. Another example is Hamilton and Verstappen 2021, where they were pushing each other in races to the point they had huge gaps over everyone else. Less than a paper width between them. Another example, Alonso and Hamilton 2007 season, finishing on the same points. FINAL CONCLUSION; GOAT talk is basically like debating how long angel's wings measure. Fact is we see all of the attributes you mention here, in all the GOATS. Perhaps Max will shine as the one that comes out on top, but I suspect the reality is that Prost was the consistency GOAT, Senna was the qualifying GOAT, Max was the dry race speed GOAT and Schumacher was the wet GOAT. What is never going to be true is a fan's perspective on the whole thing, which largely is predicated on subjective feelings about their favourite driver which biases them to the reality that previous GOATs also done arguably the same things. End of monologue. LOL
@rezaahjappie6044Күн бұрын
@ In terms of the respective GOATS you’ve anointed, the only trait Max is possibly inferior to anyone is qualifying. As fierce as the Senna/Prost rivalry was, Senna always had the upper hand on Prost. The Senna/Schumi rivalry is the ONE the F1 world really missed! The 2021 WDC between Lewis and Max is, without question, the highest level of racing I’ve witnessed between 2 of the greatest drivers of all time. I’ve always rated Senna the highest in terms of natural ability and raw talent. The only driver that rivals Max’s consistency is Schumi as Prost was more consistent in ‘doing what he had to to win a championship’ but Max and Schumi were consistent in winning. What Max did in 2021, and then at the beginning of 2022 what he was able to do to overhaul the biggest points gap between him and Leclerc in a WDC and win, and then this year after RB falling off the cliff in terms of performance and dominance after 8 races - he is inevitable!

@rezaahjappie6044Күн бұрын
@@PatrickFuchs-iv1qk Schumi’s consistency was almost beyond the realms of possibility but the unlimited testing he had obviously helped him in that regard. The simulator is available for all drivers to make use of, Max is the only one that really does use it. A driver that is always practising, driving, honing his skills and trying to improve his craft is going to be an extremely difficult task to beat. And if he happens to have the raw talent and natural ability that Max has in abundance then that becomes a daunting task for anyone.

Edit: as for Lewis, I already defended him in a previous video. He's in the difficult position of leaving the team. No longer at its core as team leader. No longer welcome at strategic development meetings. No longer the focus for upgrade development. And one wonders why the performance of the car is diverging from him? No shiz, Sherlock... of course his performance is slipping, compared to George.

If you actually look at the data, you'll realize Daniel wasn't successful next to Max, he got outperformed by all counts both in 2017 and 2018. If Hamilton is competitive next season at 40 that's all I'll want, but he is not in his prime anymore, that doesn't mean he can't put together a championship winning season if others around him aren't bringing their A game. False dichotomy Cameron, that you imply, you ask how else would we like Verstappen to drive, which implies you are arguing the usual "he exploits the rules" line, and then say the other option is snowflakery. I disagree. There is a THIRD option, the likes of Alonso have always employed, which is a mixture of aggression and finesse. Whether you fans of Vertappen like it or not YOU DON'T GET PENALISED FOR EXPLOITING RULES YOU GET PENALISED FOR BREAKING THEM. It's all well and good to give a disclaimer that you are objective but are you? It's like Alonso says, "you always leave a space", but with Verstappen, it's "you never leave a space", and he says he doesn't care because he is never in the wrong in his own eyes, because it's impossible for Max to be wrong, right? So if a thousand people say he is wrong he will still say he is right which just means he has no self-awareness. Great his performance may have been but a perfect human he is not. Get over it.

@DenUitvreterКүн бұрын
Verstappen said you win some you lose some, as in when you get it wrong you get a penalty and that is just part of the game. So he takes the 5s on the chin and didn't even complain about the 10s and another 10s. Passing on the outside used to be much more rare than it is now, drivers used to not let that happen, it was either a mistake or a brilliant move. Leave the space is making sure the failure to pass does not lead to contact, not to allow for an on track pass. And then suddenly the stewards decided Hamilton was entitled to "racing room".
