Lawyer Anokye is the best historian I have ever seen. Am a historian too. Am really learning a lot from him.

Is it just me, when i hear him speak i see it like am watching movie, like am standing there seeing it all. I guess thats testament of a good history talker. A whole movie series can be made from this but the country is very devided that opening up history could cause some to hate others. If we cannot embrace our history no matter how embarrassing we cannot move on to the future together.

I would have loved to hear about, 1. The Osei Bonsu Apai, his dream about the argument between the sword of King and the sword of the ancestors 2. A little about his mother Queen Konadu Yiadom and her rise to power and influence in the Civil war that lead to the rise of Osei Bonsu. 3. More on the boldness of the Queen Ama Tamia, that resulted to the Gyaman war 4. His building of the first European style fort in Kumasi but I guess not everything can make it into such a short episode. I really enjoy this episode, Indeed Osei Bonsu's reign marked the peak the of the Asante Empire. P.s. Osie Bonsu is my third fav Asantehene after Osei Kwadow and Prempeh I. Fun fact Bonsu's successor Osei Yaw Akoto, is probably one of the worse Asantehene to have sat on the golden stool. Also @Max Tv can you number the episodes so it can easily be followed chronological

Kwame wusu, and others. EVERYTHING HE HAS SAID HERE, ARE ALL LIES. I bleed for Ghana that people like you, are hailing him; which goes to prove your lack knowledge. The Anokye guy is neither Lawyer nor Historian.

Very exceptionally brilliant Ghana We Africans are very exceptional peoples - our creativity, wisdom, history, values, belief systems, spirituality, governance, politics and philosophy- are unique but we are not committed to think and move in unity for our development. We foolishly embrace foreign values and religions instead of our historical development. We have a lot and everything to us to develop in unity. Blessings being to our ancestors.

To say someone is wrong means you believe the other person, sorry if it comes off as condescending, I think the country needs to deep research that everyone or overwhelming majority believes in that this is how accurate history. I understand its impossible because even if it was documented its can be altered or distorted by people. I don't know what you are saying so I cannot debate you and don't know what he is saying because until I can fully verify myself from authoritative source am open minded. Authoritative source is what Ghana needs as the country seriously lacks patriotism and that I think is in part to do with our collective limited understanding of who and how our history unfolded I mean on a deep level like next to nature thing. We are deeply divided as a country and we play pretend so many historian don't like talking about history as it gets some upset. We need to open the wound up so it can properly heal. Peace to you.

@@aduanetwum1941 He provided more details in another interview so he rectified the earlier impression that the Akatamanso War was just a battle between the Asantes and the Gas. General Hagan in an interview on Footprints with Atta-Mensah expanded on what the history books say: The Akatamanso War was a ploy by the British to avenge the Battle of Nsamankow. The Brits realized that it would be easier to defeat the Asantes in the plains with their weaponry. The bush was too much for their canons. Asante in its folly was baited into battle with their former allies, the Gas. They were upset that the Gas were aligning with the Europeans and coastal groups. Asante wanted control of the coast. Ga had also found an ally in Akyem who helped drive away Akwamu, their former overlords. Akyem and Asante were rivals. Bottom line, Akatamanso was a battle against Gold Coast, not just the Gas. That is why the Brits recorded it as one of their victories. It was still a victory for Ga too regardless.

25:00 - 26:00 there is a gap here and it appears lawyer is been disingenious, the asantehene was clearly defeated and killed otherwise why would asantehene die in shcok because his adversary's head has been cut off LMAO! Please please, it's okay to admit that he was defeated and killed.

With 300 men? Oh ho! What about the head of McCarthy in Kumasi? There may be other school of thoughts but Asante’s defeat would meant the end of the empire whereas clearly the remained past 1800s.
