Max, eating fresh fruits 🥝🍑🍒🫐🍈🍌🍉🍇🍓🍊🍐🍎🍏alone is much better than drinking fresh juice 🧃. Many of the ‘fresh’ fruit juices bought from supermarkets have additives, colouring, extra sugar, but even if you make your fresh fruit juice, it’s a waste of so much more vitamins that sit in the food processor/grinder which end up being washed off. So,might as well eat fresh fruits. Both FLAX SEEDS and CHIA SEEDS are full of vitamins, antioxidants,and great source of fibre, too.

If you eat at 4:30pm, by 10pm you feel hungry. My recent blood test shows my cholesterol is high, HbA1c is high (diabetic). My blood pressure is also high. I am trying to eat less carbs i.e rice and have only one meal per day. Have to stop drinking soft drinks. 19:50 Blending the vegetable or fruit into juice destroy/breakdown the fiber. Is better to just eat them whole with the fiber intact. When you drink orange juice, it will cause a spike in blood glucose as there is no intact fiber to slow down the absorption of the fructose into your body.
@MaxChernov4 күн бұрын
Orange juice is a big no-no for sure, yes. You don't blend fruits, only veggies.

a caveat for this is that if you remove the pulp from your juice, you essentially remove most of the fibre and the end product is not healthy. it would've been nice if she mentioned that as a disclaimer

I think some points she made were good but things like caffeine in foods that we take on a regular basis to keep us going that we should relook in a different light, I take it with a pinch of salt. What about other foods like tea? I agree that highly developed countries tend to eat more ultra-processed foods but the reason being many people don't have the luxury of time. Perhaps the key to eating for everyone in cities like ours is to strike a balance in between vs. going all out for a 100% nutritional diet.

With all due respect I think her country needs nutrition lessons more than we do.

Still, I read from another nutritionist that eating fruit is better than drinking fruit juice since juice could cause sugar spike. And Chia seeds needed to be hydrated before consuming. So whom to listen?
@barblee96154 күн бұрын
Yes, eating fruit is better than drinking fruit juice. Fruit contains fiber which helps to buffer the rise in blood sugar. Whereas fruit juice has fiber being removed, so no buffer, and you get the blood sugar spike Moreover, you need, maybe 6 to 7 oranges to make a glass of orange juice. Imagine the amount of spike in your BS. A lot, isn't it ? I think we are usually satisfied with eating 1 orange, fiber and all. Hope this helps. 🙂
@SallyCotton-s8w4 күн бұрын
She mentioned Green Juice which probably contains mainly veg but not fruits. Hence, not fructose.
@zinknot4 күн бұрын
I don't know about the chia seeds, but listen to everyone and do your own research and decide. It's probably true that eating fruit is safer than drinking it because you can drink it a lot faster. But I think the healthiest way is the way that gets you to consume more fruit. Which for me is definitely in juices and smoothies. If worried about sugar spikes, just drink it more slowly. A little at a time. Not a big deal.
@christine82033 күн бұрын
@@barblee9615I think she was meaning blending your fruits / vegs (fibres are not separated)…as opposed to ‘juicing’ your fruits /vegs which is pure extraction of the juice from the fruit.

I think the fact that our genetics is so different for individuals that trying to eat what's "right" is so difficult. I think as long as we don't consume something specific excessively like alcohol for example, we should live to eat rather than eat to live.

14:20 I really like these "imagine if everyone" solutions. They are both stupid and impractical.
