She is right. Malaysians should do better when it comes to punctuality. However I wonder why people have this view that we are very relaxed. I think we act that way because that is our personality but our schedule is very pack. I mean Malaysians are notorious for being overworked. I remember watching Rafizi Ramli interview and he said when he worked as an accountant in the UK at one of the big 4 audit firm people don't work overtime as much as accountants in Malaysia do. An Australian friend of mine who is a Doctor, when he heard that Malaysian doctors have to attend to 40-50 patients per day he was shocked. In Australia doctors only attend 8-10 patients per day. That's what he said anyway. Malaysians are overworjed, probably because we don't have enough professional/high skilled workers. There is however a lack of entrepreneurial spirit among Malaysians. That to me has to do with the level of economic development. Countries tend to become more emtrepreneurial once they become rich.
@invictustv140911 ай бұрын
Using your logic, the Gulf Nations like Saudi Arabia and Qatar are the most entrepreneurial countries because they are rich.
@secrets.29511 ай бұрын
@@invictustv1409 They are rich because they have oil. I have lived in the US and their entrepreneurial level is far beyond our reach. At least for now. They are extremely entrepreneurial people. Penang is like 5% of Silicon Valley level and Cyberjaya is maybe like 1%. Lol. I am not exaggerating when I say that. Its common sense actually. When a country is developing it thinks about how to reach the next level which is to become developed. Once u are developed u want more than just a good quality of life. You want to be innovative and what not.
@invictustv140911 ай бұрын
@@secrets.295 Lol don't compare Malaysia to the US. Of course the US is entrepreneurial as they are an immigrant friendly and open nation. That's why they are a Superpower. Malaysia by comparison is a third world muslim sh*thole that has special rights for the 'special' race. Even Indonesia which is a poorer country on a per capita basis has unicorn companies such as Traveloka, Tokopedia and Gojek. Malaysia on the other hand has zero unicorn companies. Grab is a Singaporean company. Indonesia is more entrepreneurial than Malaysia despite being a poorer country on a per capita basis.

When I left skyscrapers in KL were few and far between. I had no idea KL had boomed the way it has. The skyline of the city I was born in is utterly unrecognizable by me! Kuala Lumpur means muddy confluence in English.It is a place where a river meets another body of water. Gombak river meets Klang river. Lumpur means muddy, so the water is naturally muddy before till now..😊

As a Malaysian, "lah" sub-fix for us is simply as a way of informal expression, which carries the connotations of : carefree, Not-so-seriously kind of meaning, and its a lay-back way of ending a sentence, instead of a full-stop. (akin to Canadian's "eh" at end of sentences).

Please visit Sarawak ASAP. Our natives have the best handicrafts from different ethnic groups in the state. We have big rivers and some great waterfalls near the city of Kuching, the biggest city in Borneo. Street food in Kuching and Sibu is different from food in West Malaysia. Come to experience our Bamboo Chicken, Laksa, Kolong Mee, Mee Kolok, Kueh tiao with tomatoe sauce, Pork satay and other Iban food.

I would love to think that mass shooting in US is insignificant compared to the population. We will never feel it until it affects someone close to us. It would be just another statistics. My closest friend in America, he and his whole family taken in Texas shooting in May last year, leaving just his 6 year old kid. No such thing everywhere else…

She's living an expat lifestyle in Malaysia. Of course she loves it. If her life would be like the local Malaysians, she would pack her bags back to US on the next flight.

Malaysia here different. The 1st China come to Malacca in 1405 doing trade with India. Later near 1500 Portuguese came, then Dutch, then Spanish and late comer is British. U can see all the mentioned heritage building and fortified cannons in Malacca. Johor sold Singapore(Old name Tamasek) to British in 19th century. U can see the British fort in Singapore, Sentosa. Seem I doing history boring subject. 😂

well, the locals will like you if you speak like them, in their language or their local English accent because it's proof that you genuinely want to learn and mingle with them rather than just for clout chasing the views on social media like many foreigners and influencers did.
