Indians are tolerant, accepting, and sympathetic to diverse viewpoints because of their spiritual underpinnings. That if you fail to put yourself in someone else's shoes (human, animal, any entity), you will be made to wear those shoes (in this life or some other life) so you can experience that perspective as well and arrive at equilibrium (moksha)/non-judgmental state. Energy is neither created nor destroyed. It just is, and changes forms. The Indian notion of divinity does not equate God as some singular humanoid entity, exclusively male, exclusively humanoid, and having an affinity for some specific species, planet, race, culture, or geographical region. It is akin to Einstein's equation E = M (divine energy manifesting as everything), hence the reverence toward male, female forces of nature, mountains, rivers, stars, living, non-living entities, permeating all creation. It is both monotheistic & polytheistic - the underlying homogeneous energy field or consciousness expressing itself as the heterogeneous reality we perceive. It is not all that different from certain interpretations of Judaism & Christianity, such as that of Baruch Spinoza...just depends on which interpretation you follow, and all religions can have a common thread. Based on the above, such a notion translates as everything emanating from the same common source - the world/cosmos is one family.

Many of the cultural values that India has are in fact very similar in China, and I can relate to the challenges that they are facing, and how they can become great again like China. I worked in IT industry and have quite a number of Indian colleagues and business partners. They are good people. India seems to be at a stage where China was about 40 years or 2 generations ago, but they can catch up soon if their government can resolve their internal difficulties. Indian will sure have a bright future, but surely one thing it is NOT. India will NOT rule the world, just like China will NOT rule the world. Our cultures were not aggressive and we never want to impress ourselves upon others, not like the west. We have multiple cycles of ups and downs in our history so we know a lot better than that. We never wanted to be ruler of the world, as these thoughts are naive and costly, and will just bring calamity to everyone involved.

I am from India, many many people of the world say, Indians are poor, here Govt salary is less than many others countries, it is true, our salary is less than others developing countries but we get here everything at the lowest costs, I mention this, 1 kilo potato is here only 20 rupees but if you purchase one kilo potato from South korea, you have to pay 500 ruppes, if you purchase 1 kilo rice in India only 48 rupees but 1 kilo rice in USA you have to pay 300 rupees, similarly if you purchase 1 pc cloth in India at 500/, but the same qualities cloth from korea ,you have to pay 2500 rupees, in a word here life is simple, easy , thanks for sharing it with others, love from India,

This was good how he explained the nation in a nutshell from economics to lifestyle.. He has right perspectives though. He can enjoy the culture but not be within it and has created a balance. he is right people can be crazy about religion and culture . India has vast weaknesses but has be balanced in appreciating the good and recognizing the bad.. He is lucky he has good family support. On the flip side, Indian parents can control their kids and give them less privacy. They dote over their kids and can be controlling. There are pros and cons in western and eastern cultures. Not everything is hunky dory all the time.

One thing he said which was incorrect, maybe because he hasn't been in the system, is the education degree being worth Google CEO or nothing. That's not true at all. There are various tiers of Indian colleges/universities all the way from education for a google CEO to a normal Google engineer to just IT consultancies, and then nothing. Good overall bird's eye view of your experience of living in India as an expat. I think every country comes with pros and cons. As someone who lives in Delhi and has only ever visited France for 1 day but speaks French, I can say that yes, France and India are so different! I often joke about Italy being the India of Europe because of how culturally similar Italians are to Indians. On a separate note, my cousin recently got married to his girlfriend (Punjabi and Bengali wedding) after 8 years of dating each other. And the families knew for 6 years! 😅
