Xi is a simpler version of the same thing, both are pretty simple. Penelope is more powerful, but vulnerable to rushdown when depowered as Odysseus, a problem Xi doesn't have.

Your performance is not tied to the power up mode like Xi. So you're technically at the peak performance all the time except when you turn into Odysseus.

Imagine playing in a game that feel like watching a sideshow in glass while swarms of funnel missiles come barreling down at you while Penelope can just press a button and dodge easily. Tldr: Under normal circumstances it's not that bad, in lag it's suffering to fight.
