If you have a 4th or 5th gen then it’ll line up like this one. If you have a 3rd gen, then you might have some poke but still worth it!

Make sure there’s no damage with the box and that it’s straight. Had a buddy get one and the box was slightly bent. Found slight damage to the awning frame

NAPA might be onto something good with the Maxi-trac line-up. I did a video on their air compressor and was surprised with how fast it inflated my tires. People have also left comments saying that using the Maxi-trac compressor along with a 4-way hose they could fill up tires even faster.

Saw another video where the guy puts out the side poles (horizontal) BEFORE rolling it out. Seemed to make it a little easier to get it all together rather than going back in to extend them after rolling it out.

So far the only issue I’ve had is one of the strap that holds the awning when it’s rolled up broke. Other then that it’s been solid. I have it off right now and it was a breeze to take off. Big thing was, you can leave the brackets on the awning and just take off the inner bolt and you won’t lose your bracket placement

Yes you can slide the awning back, but just have to make sure it clears the hatch when it opens. You can also install the awning onto the driver side.

It’s very secure, for my application.The typical roof rail should be strong enough to not collapse when you tightening the bracket. Also depends on your terrain. If it’s bumpy, then I would check the lock nuts before heading out

@@mfamily3301 yes long piece on the bottom. It helps hold the awning in place for installing and removing

3 Questions: #1 Have you driven with it yet? How's the wind noise? #2 How much does it weigh? #3 Does it feel sturdy enough to mount it to the factory roof rails? (Technically that's 4 questions ) ;-)

Wind noise is minimal, I don’t even notice it doing 70mph. It’s pretty light, not sure exact weight 18-20lbs don’t quote me. It’s sturdy to mount to factory roof rail, just make sure you check the nuts periodically even they are nylon nuts. Better safe than sorry

No drilling, necessary. I just used all of the hardware that the awning came with

depends on your setup, my 2002 toyota sequoias rails were too wide to fit the top bracket so i had to drill into factory rails

Hey how long have you have you had this installed on your vehicle. Have you noticed any sun damage in the material over time? I live in Cali and would like to leave it on yearly.
