On the 20th of September, Maxime Maurice from Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique, CNRS, Paris, France gave an online talk for "EPSC Goes Live For Schools 2024".
Summary:
Exoplanets are planets around other stars than our sun, outside of our Solar System. While we have known the planets of our Solar System for centutires or millenia for some, the first exoplanet was discovered only 30 years ago! Since then, we have discovered many of them, and they are full of surprises. But observing them remains a challenge, because they are extremely far away from us. I will present some of the most important exoplanets, as well as how we observe them.
