That has to be one of the best face sculpts when it comes to Apelinq's beast mode, I have always like the almost skeletal metal additions to his face that make it looks like he has fangs on the outside of his mouth.

Wish they replaced the chain with actually making him taller, but the fact that they actually did stuff like giving him his Maximal insignia that only appeared for one frame as Scourge removes it before putting it on him (before it disappears for the rest of the film since Apelinq's scene was a last minute addition to the film) shows that the designers at least cared there. Also gives me a lot of nostalgia to a year and a half ago, when ROTB was the latest Transformers movie and my favourite of them (before ONE got it's deserved attention).

I've currently only seen a low-rez image of it, without the red flames so im gonna wait until we get a better look at it, but for now.. it's looking goooooood! The backpack dooooes look a little big, but yeah. It might be the same case as 89 Optimus, might not look AS bad in person, or Hasbro can be cheeky and make it removable. I don't mind a little bit of parts forming :)

I can kinda understand not liking the way the feet stick out a bit but I don’t really see how else they could’ve done it without shrinking the feet. I honestly prefer this transformation though as you can have a proper standing pose in gorilla mode unlike the other mold.

I feel like it's worth remembering the original Apelinq was a repaint of TRANSMETAL Optimus Primal. If anything giving him stuff like more defined pecs and more wedge-shaped feet in robot mode would have gone a long way.
