My new MT7's are making a horrible gurgling / turkey gobble sound when gradually braking. Going to try the tips here in this video, and I'll report back! Also sent a message to Magura customer support to see if they've had anyone with this problem in the past

Could be an issue with caliper alignment, could be an issue with lack of bedding in / glazed pads. Feel free to send us a message on Facebook or Instagram for more help!

Hey i have the same problem, when im braking im getting haptic feed back in my lever.
@koenverbouw71518 ай бұрын
As long as the temperature remains below +/- 30° I arrive to drive without noice. When temperature rises above, noise starts. (Experience while cycling to Rome from Bruges. During the climbing operatrions once I arrived in Toscane where the air was dry and temperature raised above 30°, fully sunshine, the brakes made a lot of noice. (The 34 km climb to the Splügen Pass passed in completely 'silence').

Wow, that caliper alignment trick is the best! Now I do it eyes open, it's done in seconds! 🤣 Only joking... Magura pad clearance is tiny. Alignment takes ages.
@MAGURAPassionPeople2 жыл бұрын
We're sorry to hear that you've had issues with aligning your brakes in the past! If you have any questions or need help, please feel free to contact us on Facebook or Instagram. As for the pad clearance: there is a trade-off between pad clearance and free travel. This becomes especially relevant for brakes with a high overall leverage, which, compared to an otherwise identical brake with lower leverage, has more free travel. To counteract this, pad clearance can be reduced.

Magura MT7 definitely is the hardest caliper to align that I’ve installed and sometimes you have to wait until some pad material has been worn off to get a rub free alignment. The braking performance is exceptional though.

My MT7’s have failed twice on the mountain in the past 3-weeks. I had them professionally bled and during my DH riding today, half way down the front brake faded and then nothing. The rear was also almost gone. By the time I reached the bottom, both brakes had failed. Like I said, twice in the past 3- weeks. Awful! I have replaced the brake pads, same issue. Can you please confirm any troubleshooting to resolve these issues. The brakes are practically new…

That's very unusual .
@Twentykixx Жыл бұрын
@@siriosstar4789 yep, that was unusual. I had been fine for a while. After winter just crap. I tried a couple of things and completely bled them twice, and had a professional shop bleed them also. Still part way down the mountain on the 3rd run, to the bar. Scary. I love the Magura MT7 actually. So before moving to TRP’s I gave it another go and bought new pads, the e-bike/DH Magura rotors and then did what what suggested to me was a pull bleed from the brake lever assembly. After multiple pulls and significant air movement out of the lever, including a soft rubber mallet tap on each brake assembly, I managed to get the brakes to function over the lever pull. The brakes are now working, couple of times at the mountain and it’s solved. To be frank, my Code RSC, Ultimates, and XTR brakes have never been so troublesome. However, none of them give me the single finger trigger modulation and power the MT7’s provide, so managed it and am happy they worked.

My mt5s make a very high pitched chirping noise. I’ve cleaned the rotors with alcohol and sanded down the pads so I’m not sure what else is up
@MAGURAPassionPeople2 жыл бұрын
Sanding down the pads may not help if they are glazed probably? Please check our guide here magura.com/2022/Bike/Performance%20Guide/Performance%20Guide_DE%202020.pdf or contact us via direct message or E-Mail if you need further help.

Yeah I got some mT5 hc ... both on 203mm rotors. they never have felt like that have any stopping power.. and the dust they create is stupid... a 30 mile street ride you would think I had went thousdands of miles without touching the brakes ever... you literally cannot even see anyting but a visibile thick black layer of dust both inside and out... its stupid.. I wish I had bouight them on amazon.. least I could return them

Did you bed in the pads before your first ride? If not, a lack of bedding in can have a substantially negative effect on braking power and pad durability. If there's an issue with your brake, you can contact one of our dealership partners ( magura.com/en/EUR/dealer-search ) to get it checked out in person, or contact the shop where you bought the brakes to check for warranty claims.

30 STOPS to Bed In brake pads/rotor! 🤣🤦♂ Bigger rotors do NOT provide more braking power... They may provide more torque and they do provide more heat dissipation through a larger surface area. WHich provides more effectiveness and efficiency. But not more 'power' Larger rotors offer better utilization of thermal transfer and energy conversion.

@@Asdasxel I'm not brand hating. SRAM simply has less power that Shimano or Magura. And for the price that's even more bad. That's also why all pros rode 220mm with SRAM and all pros with Magura 200-180 xc discs
