Best Lightburn camera setup on KZbin. Thanks so much!

Thank you for putting this together. One detail I learned with the camera on my Lasermatic MK1 10W diode laser is that you need to create and save separate profiles for different material thicknesses and for when you use spacers to lift material off the bed. Using a camera profile for 3mm material when you're cutting 6mm throws everything off quite a bit. But that's more of a Lightburn tutorial issue.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll have to look into that.

Love the video! I'm possibly getting a 130W Monport here soon, and a camera is one of the things that I'm super excited about the possibility of!

Thanks a lot. The camera is a huge bang for the buck upgrade that’s for sure. Good luck with the new laser, that thing will be a beast. Don’t forget to use code Brett10 for 10% off.

That dust collection bag/tiny canister filter on your wall with the cleaning arm is awesome - what is that? I have the big delta jobby, not sure if they still make them - I like that little corner unit you have, I am even thinking of selling much of my stuff to switch to a shopsmith (for space), interested in that small one as an aux for the CNC - would it work for that, or suggest another tool while using something else for a CNC? (If it would fill up to fast for a CNC vs another tool I can dedicated to something like that one on your wall). 1 car garage, I am trying to maximize my space so a shopsmith + rethinking dust collection is on my mind.

The dust collector I showed in the video is a Rockler Dust Right 650 with canister filter. It’s 110v and I like it a lot. I switched the cnc to a small Fein Turbo dust extractor because I wanted to use the Dust Right unit as my main shop dust collector. I’ll have a shop tour video in about a week or two to show the changes.

Great video, love it. Quick Q though- is that the sharpest image the camera can capture, or is it slightly out of focus?
@LaserGarage5 ай бұрын
Thank you! I wouldn’t say the image is blurry, it looks better in person vs on the video but it’s not 4k by any means.

@@LaserGarage I think it might be that you have ‘fade’ radio tab green when you select the overlay. Thanks for the reply

Great vids thank you for sharing. I am using RD Works, not sure if you're familiar with that, and I see Lightburn has the 4 tools to Merge, Subtract, United at Overlap and Combine (all icons on left side). Do you know if RD Works software has those features? Thanks again.
@LaserGarage4 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot! Not sure about Rd Works though, never used it. I’m sure they have similar features though.

Thank you for making these videos! I just ordered my 80w monport and was glad to see that you've covered every aspect of the product nicely. Was wondering though, if you already had a lightburn license, are you required to get the " special license key" that comes from Monport to use Lightburn? Thank you in advance!
@LaserGarage5 ай бұрын
Thank you very much! As long as you have a lightburn DSP license you won’t need to buy any other license. Lightburn will let you install it on two different computers so as long as you don’t exceed that you’re good to go. Not sure what the special license is but I’m sure it’s just monport’s marketing team selling you a dsp license. Many laser manufacturers sell LB licenses.

Thanks for the help, looks like I only had the gcode version lol but worked out. Was wondering if you had any recourses for connecting the Mac ios via Ethernet to the laser?@@LaserGarage I tried the Windows way, and didn't work, I get it to connect to the computer but Lightburn seems to just say disconnected... Any help appreciated!
@LaserGarage5 ай бұрын
Cool I’m glad you were able to get that going. I don’t have any experience connecting via Ethernet unfortunately. I connect all my lasers with USB.
@chrisvpeace5 ай бұрын
All good, thought to ask, but just in case, I figured it out too. Just had to directly plug the laser ethernet to my wifi router instead of the computer directly, and connected automatically with LightBurn and Wifi :)@@LaserGarage

Hey Brett, are you running all this with the kid open?
@LaserGarage Жыл бұрын
No. The lid only has to be open to capture your work bed. All the jobs are run with the lid shut.
