Great tips! Also to maximize track life and machinery value John Deere recommends pulling your tractor into the shop(as long as the concrete floor ledge isn't over 2" in which case use a certified John Deere ramp) and leave the tractor parked there until retirement or bankruptcy.

Interesting video, so if tracked tractors are so high maintenance then why buy them?

Farmers with very little transport requirements (ex. a couple miles) dont require much break in . Most of the early life of the tractor is in the field. This break in is most important during the first season and expecially if longer transport requirements are needed with heavy 3 point implements.

Could you use powdered graphite

You could but it would be a lot more expensive than using Floor dry or Cat litter. The cheapest is of course shovel in a few shovels of soil, or go work in the field right way. The lubrication phase is most important with new tracks.
