Very fond memories of watching my dad play this game. I remember how over the moon he was when I brought him Maximo 2. Sadly he passed away in February but he lives on through the games he used to play.

Actually it´s part of the franchise. And hell is hard as it the original. You had a limited game overs until the game brought you back to the start. Limited items, armors, skill etc.

@@strawberry4656 It's not a remake but a spin off based on the exact same universe. Knight Arthur is out there somewhere slaying Lucifer or porking Prin Prin while Maximo fights for his kingdom. Note how they both start in a graveyard and listen closely to the theme of the graveyard there is a small jingle that's a reference to Ghosts n Goblins.

It's no where neaaaaar as good as Namco's "I-ninja", no where neaaaar Or even THQ's "Vexx" which isn't about combat until the last boss fight, but an incredibly rewarding, tough platformer that oozes authenticity and atmosphere! 2 very important ingredients that Maximo lacks.
