I said it before but i feel the biggest problem this game has is there's no connection to people we watch on sundays. I think the reason a lot of sports games that fail is because of that. If they can try and work in the new ufl league then it might work but people keep coming back to madden because there's an element of getting to play with your favorite players in the nfl

at 1:25 idk... this is kinda like a madden tackle from behind, i hate how all momentum just stops basically from getting caught from behind, id like to see more gang tackling.. hit at the knees tackle, or wrap up around the legs, maybe there is we just havent seen it, but its like in that clip i time lined, the WR is full speed and then gets pulled right down in one spot, with not much forward momentum, but still overall this game looks alot better

I want a new football game more than anyone. But I can already tell watching the defensive play that this is not built right? You got to fix defense. ,, Madden is horrible because of a lot of reasons, but mostly their defense is horrendous

And it is a legacy issue. All you have to do to beat pass coverage is have a fast receiver run straight down the field. The AI will either never cover him, or if they do and contest the pass, the defense never comes up with it. It has been the same for years. They are making it look nicer. That's about all I am seeing here. I am not seeing anything groundbreaking or anything that actually addresses the old, bad code.....kinda like what Madden is doing.

Thanks for the vid buddy! It is difficult to see the story here for me. While he is talking about the ball not warping into players hands, we see it happen (44 secs in on this video) but that could be an earlier build. It is unclear if all the footage is taken from the same build or not. Clearly, they are still working on things and putting a video together will be tricky as a result. They need to be more clear about what we are seeing in future videos. I hope they keep the updates coming though!

This is getting to be the Duke Nukem of football games. Seriously, what is taking so long? Like many other have said, I am giving this game a chance if/when it ever comes out simply because I'm so sick of EA and what they've done to football games. I am on one hand glad they are taking their time, trying to get this game right. On the other hand, I feel like they don't really know what they're doing. They thought they could put some lipstick on a pig that Maximum Football was before Modus got involved. A thing to remember folks, Modus has never made a sports title of any kind. They've made essentially the same kind of game with different skins. They've never made a big game before.

Maximum Football is notorious for terrible DB play. Been that way for years. Seen the same exact thing in every video this year as well. DB just get smoked because they don't know how to cover anything.

"...is releasing, in early access........this year." Yeah, I heard that one before, about 2 years ago. The animations are funky and clunky. Same old legacy pass coverage issues. They have made it look a lot better than it used to. The player models are better. They may have some better player animations, but that is all I am seeing here. I am not seeing any great logic by AI or anything here. It seems to be like they are pulling a Madden here. They are trying to make it "look" like it is playing better than it is. They are lipsticking a pig of old code.

Running animation improved along with some player movement. Coverage still seems bad for the most part just from that video. I am willing to try this game out just as I tried the last one out. They are making great improvements each year for how small they are opposed to EA. Glad to see football games getting more competitive again due to having more selection. Why did it have to take this long… College Football 25 should be awesome from what I’ve seen and heard on the game so far. Madden will most likely still be bad…

I think the running might be a little corny but i can tell it will be better than EA. Bc everything looks more smooth and quick. The unreal engine is just warming its gears up. The frostbite engine in EA makes madden fast and destructive but it skips the quickness and realistic play in football. The passes i can tell look smoother and better movement in the pocket. More options in the playbook with smooth gameplay. The line is blocking and running game looks better besides the corny strides. That one DB kinda sleeping on that receiver but besides that defense is their. I think the spiderman interceptions in madden are not realistic simply because you have smoother passes in real football.

Dude idk. Like I know we are desperate to get away from madden, and rightfully so, but are we really objectively looking at this and calling it good? This looks near identical to like nfl GameDay for ps1...I appreciate it's a small studio. But 2 dudes built a shack by the river near my old job. Impressive for 2 people...but that doesn't make it an amazing house. No they aren't it's similar to madden the notre dame screen shot they put out has the exact same player models. I'll believe they revamped gameplay when I see it. Ea is going to cash out on the shared franchise capability between college and dynasty and make little to no improvements on madden.

They need to work on player movement still, and hopefully control of the D lineman in the trenches and trench warfare in general. Like if I want to do a spin move, I use my joystick in a circular motion, one way or the other to spin one way or the other
