Ah the Atlas. The only mech I got as far as mastering each chassis. The trouble I had with them is that they are fire magnates. The enemy always make these a priority target and they are so slow and unmanoeuvrable that they are useless against skilled enemies in faster mechs (which is pretty much all of them under 80 tonnes).

Sometimes a team will throw the game if the think it's badly snowballing or if they think key components of the team have messed up badly already. Great video as always. Love the atlas play.

this was very good work. thumbs up :) i like the atlas, too. but if you want to buy another one (i know you already have 3 now), go for the AS7-S. you can put in one AC20, four srm6+artemis and even if he has 4 laserslots -> no lasers! over 71 damage pure right-into-the-enemys-face fun ;) right now i'm totally in love with the new cyclops ♥

I played there games in a row with or against you last night (dadogsbits). Kept thinking why is this name familiar....then watched this... doh. I also picked up a couple of fatlas during the sale to go with the freebie one. Will have to try this build, have been running ac20, 2 mpl and 4xsrm6 with artemis which is fun but lack of range can be annoying. Thank you for the quality vids, keep it up.

Apparently a lot of players were doing derp day at the time. Ultra 2 direwolf, LRM gargoyle, a king crab with a terribly undergunned loadout WITH lrms. lol

There's a reason why I dislike events like these, you get fuckwits buying mechs they've no clue how to pilot, and especially during the weekend when the Weekend warriors show their faces.

I've found that if you push with your team in a Atlas after everyone is done sniping lots of people don't shoot the atlas instead trying to secure kills on weaker allies.

I played such build, which I called "Atlas the Shotgun", but damn, it generates more heat than AC/20 + 3 SRM6.

I like that build, not that familiar with MWO, but with that low Heat on this Atlas can you not replace the 2 med l. With 4 small pulse could be more handy in short range brawl?

What on earth was that King Crab? An AC5, an LRM15 and an ER PPC? That's stunningly terrible, and I'm a solid Tier 4 who loves KGCs for all their inadequacy as a chassis. At least put 4 AC5s on there with some backup weaponry...

I used to run my Atlas like this until I went back to the AC20 so I could have more ammo and armor. The 10X's are nice, unless you prefer higher single-point damage.

It is kind of a concept troll build for maximum splash damage - therefore "Splatlas". Of course the AC/20 would be more efficient.

It certainly works for intimidation. Lots of screen shaking and pants-crapping going on. I was running this during the event this weekend while my friend ran his version of the rainbow-troll Archer. It kept people under cover while the rest of the team flanked.

Atlas was my first mech, in which I dealt 1300 damage.

+Snuggles Time I know. I just threw it together for the first run and wanted to optimize from there. Also, way too many heat sinks. But to be honest I thought that I could show you a good brawl and die horribly in mid-game. No ammo needed for later. 😉
