So the song is basically a reply to “fans” who, when vocalist and guitarist Ryo had to lose a lot of weight due to health reasons, said they preferred the old fat Ryo. I believe the lyrics are just a lot stuff about those health issues and what’s okay to eat and what’s not. Anyway glad you checked out another song from the masters of transitions and genre mixing 🤘

One of my favourite back stories to their songs. Let the man better himself! Enjoying food in a healthy way is good.

@@Kintayisme I also prefer him alive as all fans should. Like he HAD to lose weight. But yeah I love how they wrote this song to those “fans”. Not just the masters of transitions and genre mixing but also saying “fuck you” with humour 🤘

Although I am a Japanese, I can't catch a word without the subtitles. They do it intentionally. They make Japanese sound like English and do so extremely fast.

M.T.H. for the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame! Rather than trying to understand the vocals listen to them as another instrument. Most Japanese don't understand everything they are saying.

In yesterday’s MtH livestream it was very interesting how they tackled this song (Let’s Talk About Menkata Cottellee) in concert, with NAO abandoning her drums briefly to sing and exercise at the front. The song is inspired by Ryokun’s (the guitarist) long term weight and health struggle

Don’t be too worried about not understanding Japanese language, I’ve read that a lot of their lyrics are not understood by local Japanese folks, a lot of the singing/screaming is scatting (jazz style) so unintelligible anyhow. I really have gotten into a lot of Japanese rock and metal, absolutely fantastic innovative music, I just treat the lyrics as another instrument, therefore not expecting to understand what’s being sung, I now prefer foreign language music to English, as most lyrics I can understand are stupid if you really listen to them, so I figured better off not understanding
